Not going to happen but JV making a T-Mobile 2006 like mistake to let a good climber gain minutes would be the cherry on top. Imagine if they actually manage to beat Pog or he has to abandon and they finish 2nd in the GC because they didn´t chase a breakaway.

I have to admit if Uran won it like that, I would cheer just because of the lols.

I wonder if the UAE team is actually sick, and the team is hiding it so far as a bluff or that the riders get negative covid tests that don't reveal the real infection. Bit conspiracy and it doesn't really make sense, but I can't believe how bad they are. I mean someone like Soler getting dropped here?
Well, Hirschi actually is that bad. His shape is completely broken.

If it was the case that they'd have to chase the breakaway in the end it would be funny enough.

I can see maybe DSM helping UAE to protect Bardets GC position. I think they're the only team who help unless it balloons completely out where Jumbo and Ineos have to start riding.

They are just burning their dead wood now. When it gets hard they have McNulty and Majka there who are absolutely up to the task until now.

The intrigue could come if some teams would race against UAE more than against each other. But I don't see that happening here. Jumbo plays for time with Roglic badly banged up and Ineos seems not interested in doing anything other than hanging around in the Top 10.

Why should it balloon out. I don't see uran getting any time back, the way this is going.

We are still on the flat. UAE has two riders pulling that were dropped early on, I doubt they'll survive the next mountain, and then UAE is thinned out, so the gap might grow. Doesn't mean it'll balloon out though.

If Uran finishes the day in yellow with a 30 second lead Pog won't be fussed. It's the second tier GC contenders who should be concerned.

Not too demanding for UAE. Even less with tomorrow's rest day.
Though a good feel-out before the high Alps next week.

I doubt they are concerned about Uran, the only annoyances for Pogacar would be that he would have to put his yellow stuff away

I don't think anyone worry about Uran even if he gets yellow today. He's not strong enough for high mountains anymore. Sadly. Maybe for some of the lower top ten riders he could potentially be a threat. (I am not counting Roglic to lower top ten once we reach the higher mountains)

McNulty is in the break though. With Pog they only have Majka and Bennett who've been capable on climbs so far. The other 3 have been disappearing acts
