I think bobsledders would be more effective. Interesting thing in that final Giro time trial—that had specific line beyond which no pushing was allowed. I think to try and mitigate against riders gaining too much of an advantage from the push. They couldn’t mitigate Thomas bike-helmet change deficit however.

All we need now is a Jamaican TT-specialist

What has the hive mind decided regarding bike changes for today's climb? Worth it or not?

The announcers on Peacock world feed just mentioned that you can tell if a rider is going to do a bike change by wether or not the transponder is on the TT bike. They only get one and it is supposed to be on the bike they finish with.
What do we do with this knowledge?

If Pogacar changes bikes and Vingegaard does not - or vice versa - and the time difference is around 15 seconds on the line, we'll be debating this TT for the rest of our lives :D

Constant execution of power is actually not optimal on a varying course like this. If for example half of a TT (time-wise) is flat and half is uphill it's actually better to reduce power by a few % on flat and increase it uphill. It's because speed changes almost linearly with power on a steep climb (so power matters a lot then) while it's closer to cube root of power for high-speed sections (so lower relative speed/time loss if power is reduced a bit).

Looking at how the TT has unfolded, if I was Skjelmose I'd have changed my mind and would go for the TT fully.

He's one of the few guys that can get close to the two big guns on this route.
