Speaking of mindgames, if I was Pog, I would deliberately overpace the beginning just to induce panic into Vingo.

A specter is haunting Jumbo, the specter of PDBF.

Vinjebo hit over 80 KpH on the descend when riding the route earlier. So I'm guessing the TdF riders - who won't need to worry about oncoming traffic - will go faster.

Freaking Tour de Wallonie has more ITT kms than Le Tour.
The women's race also has more ITT kilometres than the men's.

It's almost like different races have different routes.

Yeah, this could be epic; coming after Roglic's Giro miracle it could restore my faith in ITTs...I really have no idea who will win. On paper if Jonas is feeling good he could take 30 seconds or more, purely on w/kg. That said, when Pog goes thermonuclear he's otherworldly and it could be 30 seconds in his favor...
Absolutely. Given the nature of our sport it's not inconceivable we could never see these two lined up like this ever again; two of the best GT talents in the history of the sport, as even in strength (apparently) as we could hope to see them, both their teams about as even as it gets two weeks into a very hard race, and all to play for. It's a moment in time for sure.

Wout himself doesn't think he can win. Seems also like Kuss will take it easy.

"Normally the course is too difficult for him, Wout himself thinks that it will go for the day victory between Jonas and Pogacar, but for Wout it is an important day for what follows after the Tour," he concludes. Meanwhile, likely the rest of the team will take it more easily in order to set up a move on stage 17.

No way Wout competes with Pog and JV on a route like this. Actually, surely no one finishes this within a minute of those two.

Tadej to win and get maillot jaune, Vingegaard 15-20s behind him. So roles reversed with basically the same, incredibly small gap before the queen stage. A.Yates 3rd on a stage and 3rd in GC.
While this route is not favouring WvA, he can still be within half a minute of those two, if he really goes for it.

Besides those 3 riders, there must be someone who is capable of finishing within a minute, no? If not, it would be a bit pathetic (maybe that's the reality of this Tour though).

Thinking about A. Yates (but will he go full?), Pidcock, Bilbao, Skjelmose, ...?
