The bigger problem is that 4 out of 6 HC climbs are the final climb of the day, including the one that hands out double points. The KOM battle being slanted towards GC riders is a direct result of the stages not having enough climbing before the MTFs.

Yes, this and Ramaz being hard cat. 1s when Puy de Dôme, Grand Colombier and Joux-Plane are easy HCs doesn't help either.

If it was mano-a-mano between Jonas and Pogi on a breakaway and Jonas flatted, Pogi would wait for him.

But with tubeless tires these days, a flat is highly unlikely.

As soon as there is a Rodriguez or Simon YAtes there Pogi has to keep racing, at least wheelsuck. And your contingency plan in case of a crash or technical difficulty cannot just be: "Pogi to be overly sportsmanlike".
