Usually the stage one is unless the stage winner was the most aggressive. The overall super combative one, just looking back since 2013, the only other times they also didn’t win a stage was 2014 and 2021. Campanaerts is also the only one besides WVA to win the stage one twice which is most likely why he won the overall/Super.

The white jersey does seem a bit silly at the moment... I wonder if the promising young man who's won two Tours and four monuments can maybe someday become a contender when he's older.

Saw a suggestion somewhere, that maybe there should be a rule change so that if you've won a GT, you can no longer win white.
I'd say limit it to 3 GT appearances under the age of 25. At least then you've got a max of 3 years of it.
