Stages like this are completely useless in the first week of the Tour, but I guess they are a somewhat necessary evil. I think ASO last year did a stunning job of limiting these kind of pseudo rest days, but there are 2-3 of those too much this year unfortunately. There's no suspense or reason to actually watch the 'race' before 10-20 km from the line.

I really cannot be that bothered with a stage like this honestly.
I need some rest days after what we've just witnessed. Tomorrow's good.

Bit meh for a Friday stage. Why did the epic stages have to be on days I can't as easily do no work, and we get this on a Friday 😭
well they're doing things differently this year in case you hadn't noticed. We've got an interesting mountain stage on a weekend for once so they had to move the boring stage from Sunday to Friday.

Pet peeve here, but YOU CAN'T PUT "MONT" IN THE TITLE OF A STAGE WHERE THERE IS NO MONT.
Ok? That's just false advertising. I don't care if that's the name of the town where it starts. Find another town.
The person who came up with the name is the problem. How come they realise one day they would mislead cycling fans into thinking this was a mountain stage hundreds of years ago? The ignorance of that person is off the charts

One for the bird watchers and castle enthusiasts. Ewan for the win.

If Mark Cavendish wins we will never here the end of it on ITV 4 and from Carlton Kirby

I cant bear Mark Cavendish and dont get me started on his interviews Bloody awful but I would like Cav to win as it is an epic achievement and he is the best sprinter of all time

Apparently Asgreen will be on double-duty as a mechanic today:

Break with Campanerts, Allan Philip and Cort. Sprinter teams without quickstep to drill it at 50 to go.

Quickstep to take control at 5 to go. Cav is in the same train and has made a deal with Mørkhov about a rolex watch, cheap from Isle of Man. Wout and Poel tries to control their own teams. Jasper crashes.

Can sneaks it behind Fabio and wins by photo. Leaves the Tour afterwards with two models on a private jet and we never see him again.
