Just bumped in. Seems like a nice cozy stage in beautiful sourroundings, just like I remember myself driving by in 1988 and next day witnissing my compatriot winning the Puy de Dôme stage.
In fact my first Limoge stage watch not being live attendant along the parcours (missed the one last time LeTour was here), so personally a special sensation having a look 'from the outside' :)

I don't get why Van der Poel is nor allowed to go for this one and is okay with that. Giving back to your loyal friend and teammate philipsen on flat stages is one thing, but stage seems to suit him to a tee.

It amazes me that Pedersen tried to get in the break. This finish should suit him well from the peloton.

I assume the team wasn't sure if it was going to be a bunch sprint or for a breakaway, and since he isn't the fastest sprinter in the race, I think it made sense to give it a go.

It's a sad reminder of Sagan's demise that he would be a shoo-in for this stage for five years, but now he's not even mentioned.

As predicted, those that contested the intermediate sprint, would carry on as a break ;)

Jumbo chasing tells me the want today for WvA/Laporte.

92 F/33 C tomorrow on the Puy de Dôme. This will be an ideal opportunity for Jonas to put time in Pogi. If he doesn't, it will be a big blow to his chances.
