Tour de France Tour de France 2024, Stage 10: Orléans > Saint-Amand-Montrond, 187.3km

Not sure Jonas is playing. He usually lets his legs do the talking.
And hanging on to every move Tadej makes without taking a pull sends a message. Tadej thinks Jonas is using him (he is) and hopes he can embarrass him into something adventurous. Remco takes the trailer park challenge route suggesting he has no balls. Jonas is in their head and his team talk of sprint wins for Wout.

None of them say anything about Roglic and most of the press don't include him in any highlight or race forecasting. He doesn't seem to protest, either so not sure what to make of it. He enjoys a lot less press in his face.

Looks like the wind will be neither strong enough nor from the right direction tomorrow, so second rest day it is.
You are wrong. The stage will have all the necessary factors for echelons if the forecast doesnt change.

Enough strong, about 18 km/h at 4 pm

Right direction in the last part of the stage.

Quite open and quite narrow road with small climbs.

So if some teams want will be and interesting stage.

Anyway to think a "flat" stage of le Tour is a rest day is no understand anything of cycling

Yes, at 5 PM GFS forecasts even 6-8 m/s (roughly 20-30 kph) from WSW in the last part of the stage. We could have some drama indeed.

That's what Visma thought of the recent stage with quite equal conditions towards the final part, Pogi ending up as s one man team. But in the end too vague winds causing too large front group.

Must say that 18kmh winds doesn't look much to me.
In a month it'll be 30 years ago I participated in a triathlon (1/2 distance) and for the bike route it was stormy weather 18m/s (65kmh) with gusts reaching 25 m/s (90kmh), maybe should be cancelled (think most participants thought) but it was manageble (though my lungs were empty for air being by laughing being on my bike in this bizarre situation :D).

18kmh is a mild wind.

If Visma or SQS manage to pull a switch, I'm quite sure the front group will be huge with main GC contenders awake here, discord in the group including random fast riders.

I just hope you're right - extra spice, and I like spice pretty much :yum:

They are clearly afraid of the plan Jonas and Visma have and they need to try something to get it derailed. The only problem is that Jonas is smart and doesn't do anything unless it can benefit him. The two others are more on instinct and that is fun to watch - but a grand tour is long and you clearly need to save energy as much as possibly.
It has been fun to see all those comments about wheelsucking from alle the people at home on their chesterfields and everyone who knows about cycling says Jonas was smart and Pogi/Remco Knuckleheads (somebody even called Remco an amateur).

Remco takes the trailer park challenge route suggesting he has no balls. Jonas is in their head and his team talk of sprint wins for Wout.

Apparantly Remco isn't satisfied with his team and wanted a couple of 2-times Tour-winners to work for him. Only one of them wanted to go down that road since it could actually benefit himself - the other where smart enougt to know, that his odds where better if he waited for his team. It seems to me, that Remco is unsure he can settle 3 place on his own and afraid of what will come in the following weeks.

Roglic going under the radar and almost no attention is dangerous for the rest. I do not think he can contest for winner, but he will probably keep himself in line for the third podium spot and doesn't Remco usually have an offday? The fun thing is that Roglic is not the only one - when we enters the high mountains there can be more batlle for 3.

@Netserk thanks for the video. That was an epic stage and I remember how it got me all exited. Hope there will be possibilities for some of the same today.

Just heard a podcast about that stage. It was that one where Valverde got a flat tire while being 2nd in GC, and they kept riding to make a big gap. No class at all.
Valverde was the overall leader, Sky said F off to Valverde/Movistar to continue their feud from earlier. Yet anytime anything happened to Sky’s leader they were singing a different tune. Valverde would have been 55 seconds closer to Contador, not saying he could have won but it could have been a tighter battle.
