This may well be true, idk, but there is this tendency to conclude that wherever Visma ends up, that is exactly where they wanted to go. I am not really sure that is the case, even though I do agree that UAE should not be doing this.

They should try to attack with Yates and Almeida, not set the pace for Vinge to just follow. Or let Visma set the pace if they want to attack, then just follow with Yates/Almeida.

Kelly hitting the UAE strategy on the head - they are wanting a war of attrition - make every day hard and grind Jonas down, make him go to the well over and over again and eventually it will run dry.

Obviously the risk the Pogacar will do the same - but if they sit back and let Jonas have free days then he has good enough shape to win it on 1 day.

He can’t really win, if he attacks people say it’s stupid, a waste of energy he already has a nice lead.
If he waits, people say it’s stupid because Vingegaard is getting stronger and the big climbs next week suit him.
