You just make it harder for yourself for no reason. Most of that group are still a minute behind. Multiple good climbers had teammates there that were gonna be useless from the first climb onwards anyways

I see what you mean. But someone who was in Grp 2 at the start of the climb will be the likely winner, so didn’t matter that much?
