I mean, it‘s sensible, Red Bull want the race to stay close so it‘s more nervous and Roglic crashes out so when the other favorites are underwhelming, Roglič fans can claim that Roglič is the moral winner.

Nah. Rogla would top it if it was a MTF, as it would instead likely come down to a flat sprint it wold be too risky. They can still try to crack Jonas and test other GC riders, on the ultimate climb, though. We'll see. Not much to lose but some time potentially to gain.

Vauquelin is a top rider, Pacher and Laurance are great, Oliveira has been close before, Teunissen is a TDF stage winner

it's a strong break

For Tour standards this is not a strong break at all. Ofcourse Vauquelin has a lot of talent, same with Laurence, but they're both Tour rookies. Teunissen on this parcours is obviously not a "strong rider". The winner will probably still be a decent name, but that does not mean it's a strong break.

Bardet is the moral winner here. Done absolutely nothing for it but still gets to keep the jersey. C'mon Visma and UAE, do something, Rogla will if he has to.

Think it has been a head-wind as well.
Pretty much yes, but turn info tailing winds and ardenner mode at Montecalvo - think there would be room to shake state of things a bit. Not necessarily UAE but attacks like that of Bardet's yesterday.

I think UAE are also riding with the podium in mind as well. I definitely think they want to finish 1-2-3 in this tour. So flogging the team in early stages kinda makes no sense. Moreover, they just don’t really have the horses for long flat sections.

They would be foolish to have that goal, their only goal in this Tour should be to win the overall.

Hope that Pogačar or any other GC rider still tries something in the final San Luca ascent.

Jakobsen can't even follow Cavendish, he will not last long in this Tour.

Either one would be good for my CQ team, and cycling Francaise. Vauqulin was terrible at The TDS, but looked a lot better at the French Champs. Nice to see Arkea using him as a stage-hunter here, rather than hoping he'll ever be a top GC rider.
