I still maintain mowing down Giulio Pellizzari for your 5th stage win when you're 7 minutes ahead in GC was clown behaviour, but gifting a stage to a 2x tdf champ here would almost seem disrespectful, it's a question of context.

Well, they did basically 0 work in the last 2 climbs and it was clear that "someone" refers to a breakaway guy, not Jonas. You are going to *** on him whether he wins by 2 minutes or sprints away, it obviously does not matter to you

Vingegaard is a 2-time defending tour champ. He doesn't need pity wins, and wouldn't want such either.

He said afterwards that he hoped a bit that the stage would be uncontested. But for that, Pogi would be forced to make the gift over the top obvious. All blame is on Vingegaard here.

I actually wanted Pog to visibly, ostensibly & almost insultingly gift Vingegaard the stage... just to read Red Rick's reaction.

Still, a fifth stage win & a possible 6th tomorrow remains quite meltdown-worthy so I guess it'll have to do.

Of course I can't help being accused of Bias due to being Danish, but I really don't see why Pogi couldn't "gift" this to Vingegaard as well as he wanted to gift it to the breakaway? Yes, he is/was clearly strongest, but when the strongest rider wheelsuck (don't like the term, but that's the majority vote) for that long, it would in my book be considered more generous to let another win. I would've thought the same if he arrived with Remco.

Btw I really enjoyed the last climb: personally they put on the street the best show of this show. A lot of duals between the GC guys( Ciccone-Buitrago,Landa-Almeida,Remco-Jonas, Pogacar-Jonas) and in the break between Mas and Carapaz. No holds barred, simply amazing

I have been super critical of Pogi chasing down breaks in order to win grand tour stages when the GC is already sewn up, but anyone saying he should have gifted the stage to Jonas are crazy. Gift a stage to rider that mean a be life changing moment for them, not to a rival, a two time TDF winner who showed you no mercy the previous year

3. It was good Tadej didn't interfere in Jonas/Remco battle
