Was cursing this same aswell on HBO Max, which is the cycling streaming option in my country nowadays, cause they bought the Eurosport rights i think. Going to send feedback, that im switching to free streaming if the "premium" subscribtion comes also with adds, like wtf. This is the problem with this stage, the exposed sections are mostly so short that gaps are still really easy to close by the time you hit the next town or woodland.

You can definitely split in if it's in the last 40k. But you need multiple teams going full.
