@Brullnux seeing VPP pass the KoM sign 4 minutes in makes me think perhaps the Plapp VAM isn't quite 1850

I'm just going off the timing points - T1 is at 995m and finish line at 1580m, and Plapp did it in 19:06. He did T2-Finish (final 280m of elevation) in 9:11, which is still around the 1830 mark, isn't it?

The KoM sign is at the bottom of the flat, and Plapp's VAM will probably go down as the first km of the climb is like 5%.

Armirail fails to beat Alaphilippe for the French crown today. But Vauquelin is still coming as a big challenger.

Armirail took 1m and 52s to finish the last 500 metres. He lost 53 seconds to Plapp in the last section which indicates Plapp's last section was strong.
