That said, considering that she at another point in the race knocked another rider of her bike she does not seem like the most aware rider… (I think it was her at least)

It was her. She had a mechanical on a gravel section and laid her bike down in the road for a swap rather than to the side. A second later a following rider hit it. Not the first poor decision in this tour.

That was the incident with Manly, nothing more than a comedy of errors between the three of them.

I don't know if you can really blame Manly for that. Garcia suddenly stopped and turned across the middle of the road toward her teammate without looking behind first. They also both stopped on the smoother wheeltracks instead of at least going to one side of the road or the other.

TO EAT:

Seeded redcurrant jam with goose feather
The gastronomic speciality of Bar-le-Duc is the seeded redcurrant jam with goose feather, known as "Bar caviar". The first mention of this recipe dates back to 1344 and its fame quickly spread to bourgeois and aristocratic circles. Queen Mary Stuart of Scotland compared the jam to "a ray of sunshine in a jar". Alfred Hitchcock would only stay in hotels that served it for breakfast. French President Raymond Poincaré introduced it to the tables of the Élysée Palace. Winston Churchill and Victor Hugo were very fond of it. Today, this jam is exported throughout the world
I had to look this one up, wondering what sort of texture the goose feather might add to the jam. Turns out it is unseeded jam, and the goose feather is the tool with which they remove the seeds, not an ingredient.

But is it OK for vegans?

Not blaming anyone its just one of those things. Men or women, we see it all the time, tired & stressed minds choosing the wrong option during a moment of panic.

Seems like Norsgaard was the only one who didn't get back on the bike. She was able to carry on after a crash in the Giro, but this didn't look good.

Today's stage is one of the longest stages ever in women's cycling. Stage 4 of the 2020 Giro Rosa, won by Lizzy Banks, had a longer neutralised zone that puts into contention for the title as well. The old Grande Boucle also had long stages, for instance a 160 km cobbled stage from Bruxelles to Valenciennes in 2002, which was followed by two other stages above 150 km (one of them also started in Bar-le-Duc). The 2001 edition had a 164 km stage.

The 2022 Melbourne to Warrambool was 160kms - Anya Louw was in this race.

So Malcotti was DQ:d earlier for receiving assistance (perhaps a new bike, the camera panned away) from a team car that had stopped ahead of the peloton. The DS should have known better.

I think the teams only have one car, but I might be mistaken. But if it is the case then I guess they couldn't do much else, since the car was following Christoforou in the breakaway. They should have punished the team and not the rider.

Wiebes wins easily but what a mess of a run-in. A 180° hairpin at 1,5km, fantastic idea! And what the heck was that wrong turn by ELB haha
