Quite interesting now, looks like it might've been a mistake for Vollering to attack so early, she's overcomplicated the race and could be cooking herself in the valley. imo could've just taken the time back on Alpe alone.

Probably true (about taking the time back). But probably nervous after yesterday, and I also don't think Niewiadoma saves more energy in the valley. She also has to ride.

Kasia has had a lot more help though; could be very interesting if Demi has cooked herself a bit by attacking too early. Still all to play for, white jersey too!

Now I would stop riding. Stupid slap from Vollering. Totally unnecessary.
While it looked pretty petulant and unnecessary, I'm not sure it wasn't intended as a pat on the back trying to encourage her to keep collaborating, or not soft-pedal, and what Iris Slappendel is saying to us about her conversation with the Fenix DS would appear to back that up.

On the other hand, the DS is saying that they were agreeing to keep collaborating and then Rooijakkers stopped doing so, so they might just be playing nice on the broadcast or keeping people guessing behind.

Brand peels off the second the climb begins. That's what all the reduction in the gap was about, Lucinda was emptying the tank for Realini. Great work for her today.

Kasia immediately splits that group in two with only Muzic and Realini going with her.

But I assume outside a race so far?
Not sure, but that would be my assumption too. On the other hand, lots of kilometers and elevation in the legs.

Edit: On the third hand, Pieterse's time was set towards the end of a 110 km ride with 3200+ meters of elevation so there's that.

Fastest Strava time is about 47 minutes (Illi Gardner). Third best is Puck Pieterse in 52:20 in early August.

Gardner is a decent climber, so if her ride was a full on effort, it might not be a bad time. I still expect Vollering to beat it.

Pogacar would do 36, judging he broke Pantani records this year. Idk, how much slower they are. 7-9min seemed like a good estimate. But ok, they are probably arriving quite tired as well now.
Pogacar can put 10 minutes on Women. He puts 3 minutes at his will in riders like Carlos Rodriguez

Striking another rider - should be a DSQ.

its something that can or has led in the past to a suspension for a rider, physically hitting another rider is generally frowned upon, be a yellow card at least Id have thought.
