Not really. If Phil wins the Clasica San Sebastian, Vattenfall Cyclassics, the 2 Canadian races, the GP quest Plouay and the Giro di Lombardia he'll easily get more points. That's 500 possible points.

But doesn't matter, especially not for Cuddles. He has the biggest victory one can get in cycling ;)

Isnt that a bid too much to ask from gilbert:eek:. However, like you said cuddles doesnt really care about the uci ranking, he has already won it before.

Staying up for 3 weeks has really drained me. But here we go....

GO CADEL!!!!!!!!

Enjoy ACF...
Evans won, without a doubt, because he was the best over these three weeks.

Hopefully you and your fellow Cadel fans can be as gracious in victory as Cadel has been.

He obviously won't win them all, but he's going to do them at least and Phil only races to win. :p

It will also be interesting to see how long his winning streak in one day races holds up. Still undefeated since Brabantse Pijl.

The UCI ranking really needs a jersey like old World Cup...

I also think it's better for Cuddles to skip the Vuelta(starts sooner, less time to recover) and try and win something like Lombardia and Emilia.

"Last year was different, I didn't like the way I lost, this year Cadel was better than me."

Someone should tell him what happened in the prologue, stage 2 and stage 3.

Meh, it's not that unreasonable. Last year Contador didn't drop Andy in the mountains, and it was pretty close in the ITT, so I can see how Andy could think Contador wasn't that superior to him and that the Tour victory was within his reach. I think Andy lacks the ability to analyze a race as more than climbs + ITTs.

Same.

Also the Vuelta a Burgos and Volta a Portugal coming up, two of my favourite races.

Wouldn't know, I'd have to watch them on live streams and my Spanish isn't all that(and Portuguese sounds more like Russian to me). Thank god Clasica is live on TV.

Burgos is Vuelta prep right?

I thought Oss was an upcoming sprinter?

Oh and no one does displaying their national identity extravengently to hide their insecurites quite like Australians. :D

January 26th is insufferable.

Still, have not fault with Cadel today, its his forever.

Yeah, sadly OZ is starting to ape the USA when it comes to ugly nationalism. Even 10 years ago, there was a light touch to "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie". Still, lets hope it draws up short of the American example.

Yea, Burgos is the main Vuelta prep race the way Trentino is the main Giro prep race. Tends to have the following kind of format (order may vary):

2 x sprints, one flat, one with a few bumps and a technical or uphill run-in
1 x short steep cat.3 finish, usually San Juan del Monte, won in 2009 by J-Rod and 2010 by Samu
1 x TTT, or ITT of around 15km
1 x MTF at Lagunas de Neila, usually one of the best racing days of the year. The 2009 stage featured Soler and Mosquera going at the base, while Valverde and J-Rod double teamed leader Danielson, with Masciarelli and Antón in the gap; Soler had to attack Mosquera which wrecked their working together, Valverde had to drop Danielson while not letting Soler and Mosquera get too far ahead; Mosquera took the stage and Valverde the overall. In 2010 you had Nibali, Samuel Sánchez and Mosquera within 10 seconds of each other, Caruso trying to hold on, Antón superdomestiquing and the likes of Arroyo and Scarponi in the mix too, but Samu eventually cracked Nibbles in the last km and won by a single second ahead of Mosquera to take the GC.

Did anyone want a photo of the, shall we say rather more sane version of DZ? ;)
