I wasnt arguing at that point - but since you brought it up

less riders in a team, means current riders having to do more workload means more crashes due to fatigue.....these guys are not having a sunday stroll in the local park

Or it means less riders present, less riders who need to be in front at the dangerous sections, more space available, less crashes and maybe a slower average pace...

you can still crash wether you are by yourself or if you in with 100 riders

80 fatigued riders are more likely to crash then 100 fresh riders

Oh, man, I was up way too late last night. fourth cup of coffee kicking in and fog starting to lift. :D

Anyway, I like the idea of smaller teams and no radios. And, along with smaller teams, shorter stages (which would also help in lessening cycling's Clinic issues - but we won't talk about that here). (And while we're at it, abolish/replace the UCI.)

i agree with your last point Max at least :p

back on the race......Lotto/BMC are doing a lot of work...good on them :)

Sure they arent stronger then Saxo or Leopard but BMC working as a TEAM (i was starting to think Cadel was starting to think that is a myth LOL )- a champion team will aways beat a team of champions

Bradley was 80 kilos at the Beijing Olympics and he was hardly a big guy then.. So it's fair to say he is light here. Whether that'll do him more harm than good is another matter.

just some guy said:
was after a pee break hence why BMC are still riding on the front

I don't think they are going fast enough for anyone to be worried about drifting back a little.

I think people have different perspective than being "wrong".

I think its wrong to compare the sport to the past. You don't do it for any of sport do you? Footballers were (generalising) alcoholic, chain-smoking bludgers in comparison to todays professionals - do you compare them, or even can you compare?

Sport changes, cycling is no different. For me, any cycling is interesting, in all its new incarnations and you should ask Chavanel if he thinks breakways don't succeed in Grand Tours. Or De Gendt about Paris-Nice.

The UCI shouldn't be imposing new rules to liven up the racing and create more 'spectacles' for fans. If the pros for the riders and teams to have something like radios, which have become essential, far outweigh the cons then leave them.

New technology, new tactics, new riders, everything changes, lets not try to be bogged down by "glory days"
