Truly crazy!!! Hope and pray he will recover...

Looking at the stream: WTF were those bricks doing on the rails??? Those are just stupidly irresponsible safety standards!!! And who thought to put the finish on the same street with the "open" streetcar rails??? WTF is the UCI doing approving this???

Groenewegen is DQ'ed from the race.

I hope he is not allowed to race Milano-Sanremo. Imagine if it comes down to a sprint...

He is registered to a race that finishes on Aug9... He can't compete in a race that takes place simultaneously.
And I doubt very much that he would be given a special permission

Not there (traveling), but will translate tweets Lang says that it looked pretty bad but Jakobsen was breathing again before transport to hospital. 9min ago mention that all involved are in hospital with Jcobsen being in worse shape than ref. Heavy internal bleeding so not looking great. 2min ago unofficial mention that ref has a spinal injury (no more details)

I really don't understand the objection to that pic but maybe a link instead so those who don't want to see it don't have to but it wasn't graphic in the slightest.

They also said on polish TV that they had to "pump out" blood because of internal bleeding (source: polish journalist Sebastian Szczesny,)
Other journalist Kamil Gorka who was on the finish line said that Jakobsen was "all in blood" after crash

:/
