Just took a selfie and had a quick chat at the start of today's stage with Cav, Alex Dowsett, Formolo, Stybar and Demare.

All of them are suuper nice guys. Didn't manage to catch Carapaz, but I took a closer look at his bike and now it's actually golden, not like the previous copper/bronze version. And Formolo is really that positive weirdo as he seems to be :D

Hayter and Cras both rode a ridiculous climb starting from all the way back and not losing time in the end.

EDIT: just saw Higuita also started way back, by far the strongest.

There were no gaps - Looking at the GC if things stay the same in the next days Hayter and Sobrero must be strong favourites - Sobrero will be suited by the ITT.

Also, what happened to Jonas Abrahamsen? That must be the worst ever defence of a leader's jersey in a WT stage race. He came home with a teammate, dead-last, 21 minutes after Higuita, 6 minutes behind the third last rider.

yeah, even worse than Vingegaard's ;)

But he probably left a lot on the road the past two days, and two of his team mates (Tiller & Johannessen) already fell sick and abandoned, so maybe he is affected as well.

Ha, I was actually thinking about writing even worse than Vingegaard in my post :p

Johannessen didn't crash in the massive fall on stage 1? I didn't know he was sick but yeah, maybe that would be the explanation.

I always like that Poland mixes in very long stages.

Today is a nice stage, but the rest of the route is underwhelming. Would be better if the hills today and the finish were seperate stages.

yeah, he was involved in the crash, but the Uno-X DS tweeted about him abandoning because of sickness (if the automatic translation didn't play me tricks)

I don't think it says anything about Abrahamsen DNFing. But that after Tiller and Johannesen had to DNF because of sickness, the team worked a bit of magic, and got Abrahamsen into the yellow jersey.

yeah, "he" was supposed to be Johannessen there. We had left Abrahamsen behind the post before already ;)
