If I was a male rider I'd definitely not bother shaving my face for that, it would hardly be worth the effort! No, I can remember a Giro with a prologue of 1km or something like that. Was in the age of Petacchi
The Tour used to have some quite short prologues in the days when Thierry Marie always won them and grabbed the yellow jersey. Also, someone asked earlier about the difference between an ITT and a prologue. It's not just that it's less than 10 km, it's also--as the name implies--the first day of racing. Sometimes they are called Stage 1 or sometimes Stage 1 is the day following. No, I can remember a Giro with a prologue of 1km or something like that. Was in the age of Petacchi

Didn't the also have an 800m one on the last part of the Kitzbüheler Horn one year earlier? Edit: It was a 600m uphill prologue, only 70sec for the winner Will Clarce. The prologue on Schlossberg in Linz for the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt is only 700m and takes just over a minute for the fastest riders, but the Tour de Kumano have had some where the winner only needed 50 seconds to complete the course.
Better known as Sprinter's highlight reel. Like anything under 3km. Provided those teams with an excuse to bring specialists to an otherwise mountainous GT and still get jersey exposure on TV. TdF did some short prologues; I think in the 80's.No, I can remember a Giro with a prologue of 1km or something like that. Was in the age of Petacchi
Sad that an former iconic bike maker has to resort to random series of letters and numbers for a model name.I think you mean the Y1RS. The V4RS is the former version of the traditional bike UAE uses (V5RS is the new version).
I'm glad you asked this question because the replies that followed are so stunning yet so fascinating! (Obviously I haven't followed cycling as closely and for as long as the posters who had replied to you, and I always love to learn new stuff! Is this the shortest TT ever?
Commentators were stupidly comparing this prologue to a 400m in athletics. I assume they were talking about that one.Didn't the also have an 800m one on the last part of the Kitzbüheler Horn one year earlier? Edit: It was a 600m uphill prologue, only 70sec for the winner Will Clarce.
Karsten Migels is a big Küng fan! It‘s a tragedy that German Eurosport/Discovery will have Tour de Suisse rights this year and I won‘t hear all about Stefan Kchüng‘s exploits in beautiful Swiss German.

Thomas changing his helmet in the Giro2023 ITT.The prologue on Schlossberg in Linz for the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt is only 700m and takes just over a minute for the fastest riders, but the Tour de Kumano have had some where the winner only needed 50 seconds to complete the course.

Spare a thought for that guy, who was so bothered by Rob Hatch correctly pronouncing the name, he had to make a whole thread about it.
