These riders are climbing 8-9% climbs like is nothing. So fast now. Soon the organizers will have to put obstacles in the climb to slow them down. LOL.
Make it into a Spartan race. These riders are climbing 8-9% climbs like is nothing. So fast now. Soon the organizers will have to put obstacles in the climb to slow them down. LOL.
Rumor has it Adam Hansen is working on a chicane for the next time they go up Angliru. These riders are climbing 8-9% climbs like is nothing. So fast now. Soon the organizers will have to put obstacles in the climb to slow them down. LOL.
Can Pogacar even hold on to Adam Yates' wheel when he's on this form? And should Yates be forced to slow down or go for his own glory?
The guy dragged his ass all the way up the climb and still manages to come back within 20 meters. I hope Almeida smokes him in the TT and takes GC.Adam not looking back until the end, maybe playing stupid. That was the best moment of today. No way he was going to let Almeida have his glory!!!! Lol.
Then he turned back after the finish and said " wait what, you were behind me...?"
It would be the biggest win of his career and it’s well within sight, hopefully it happens. The guy dragged his ass all the way up the climb and still manages to come back within 20 meters. I hope Almeida smokes him in the TT and takes GC.
Yes, now that I think of it, it would be a nice surprise resultIt would be the biggest win of his career and it’s well within sight, hopefully it happens.
I just read the interview with Meeus as well, but wasn't able to find an updated version of the rulebook. Is the time limit still 10% tomorrow with the shortened stage? Could be hard for the sprinters.
It is not a rest day and it is not a full-fledged mountain ride. In fact, it is mainly a waste of time."
Yep, 65 km long and F1 start ... somebody was smoking something real strong when they came up with that.
TV coverage starts at 15:00![]()
42.5 km long and start at 15.00 CET. Why wait so long? Start 12.00 CET and be home for a cuppa at 15.00 (even the guys doing the podium stuff).
Many flat stages could easily be shortened in the same way. Make two or three short sprinter stages in one day. What's not to like? For the non-WT, Route d'Occitanie had a shortened stage of 34.3 km.

He should be delighted in some ways, stage suits him down to the ground, he's class at easy unipuertos.Pidders not amused with a 42 km long stage -

I didn't see this stage but from what I read things did not go as the race organizers had envisioned. The F1 start started out as a novel and maybe even exciting idea, but once the race actually got going the peloton organized and re-shuffled itself right back to the way it likes it, so ultimately there were no surprise winners.Yep, 65 km long and F1 start ... somebody was smoking something real strong when they came up with that.
It simply wasn't possible that any cycling fan thought the starting grid would make a differenceI didn't see this stage but from what I read things did not go as the race organizers had envisioned. Is this basically how it all went down?
It's what happens in bureaucracy. You get people full of good intentions and innovative plans but with no experience or insight on how everyday reality works. In the end it all goes down the drain and what's left is a meme.I didn't see this stage but from what I read things did not go as the race organizers had envisioned.
