Yeah, lets go with the "bad day" narrative. When others dropping they are just not good enough, but when Skjelmose gets dropped its because "he's flying too close to the sun" or just having an off day. How about telling it as it is - he just isn't as great and good a pure climber? That would be nice for once.

Stupid danish media!

Where are you seeing that?
All the articles I have seen are simply telling it as it is; that he suffered a large time-loss.

This is like the sport of baseball in a way no? Where it seems only a few clubs buy all the best players. Should there be a limit as to how much a cycling team can spend?
I would probably prefer that. But Baseball and some other team sports has an organization that can set spending limits, which the teams—as part of the single commercial entity (a league) must follow. Although the spending limits are so high in MLB that small teams have trouble competing. Yeah, cycling has the UCI, but cycling team ownership seems more like separate companies in a regular business sector.

Almedia, great multiple times today, and when he sat down and regrouped spun himself into a second place on the stage and finished very close. Bernal calmed down also to avoid disaster.
Yates really conservative and smooth, seeing him muscle the big ring at low RPMs was painful and impressive!! Del Toro only w semi explosion, @1:30 back he rode well..
If he doesn’t sacrifice himself too much the next few days he should move up several places in the mountain TT on the final day.

Really for me it was all about Joao Almeida guy was absolutely drilling it and he had an incredible micro recovery and got second, accelerating all the time. And staying on Portugal positivity.. Rui Costa had another good ride today and looks great after just being back after snapping his collarbone a few weeks ago. EF Education looking like a retirement home w Costa and Uran..Costa still able to be there, don't know how many more years he will roll around, 37 is dinosaur in today's bunch. No gifts but Almeida looked way way stronger than Yates, I he gave 5000 watts for @20minutes plus pacing Yates, UAE did great job bringing back a decent quality breakaway.

That would qualify him as a power plant already, or do we miss a few mega watts?

I agree he did a great ride, nice to see. Like Vlasov Almeida seems to have accepted his role and should be a very strong asset for Pogacar at the Tour. Maybe he's strong enough to stay close to the Top in GC even and give UAE possibly 3 options to attack whomever needed outside of Pogacar. If Ayuso shows up on form and willing to comply it's just a massively overpowered team.

I personally think that multiple directors poured a bucket of schit over their heads on the breakaway, and Movistar especially, having Rubio and others turn it into a clown show, sprinting each other for bonuses and points, destroying each other so at the end of the day Yates can wear every jersey except for white!! They should have kept working and were holding at @1:45-2 minutes for a long long time despite UAE and Ineos pulling for an hour. Whatever team cars said get out of the saddle and attack each other just because was silly.
Riccitello is 100% heart and don't know why he lied about his age can't be over 14 and probably skipped school to race..kid rode absolutely phenomenal, went way deep

Tomorrow's final climb (only colored part):

Not going further up is a bit of a missed opportunity, of course - although the final 3k are on gravel roads - but the last time the Tour de Suisse visited Blatten, Eddy Merckx won the race, so they gotta start again slowly, I guess ;).

Due to the cancellation of the Nufenpass, the only lead up to this climb will basically be a 35k, straight road 2% downhill.

Is that the shortest stage on WT Level in recent memory? Or have their been similar cuts?
