Not gonna lie it's pretty cool the women do the same MTT as the men on the same day

Honestly, Bernal is looking good for a Tour podium.Did somebody noticed something in the face of Bernal when he came in at the finish line? He looked fresh, or relatively fresh. Watch it again. I went looking for his interview after the race and He said that He is only defending the podium and he was marking Skjelmose. So no more risks for him. He is done. Hopefully he will do a good time trial tomorrow and to an altitude camp.
The bottom of the climb is not the same. In the TT, they are not doing the loop to the salt mines and the wineyard mur of Antagnes. The first 4k are flat. It is exacltly the same as the 2022 Romandie final TT (maybe 100m less, depending on the placement of the start ramp and finishing line)It's 10km 8%, in fact, the TT is the same last 15km of stage 7 with the same exact climb and finish line. Both look like climbing a similar level but they haven't been able to attack each other and almeida has mostly been working for Adam. The climb is hard enough for big differences just depends who recovers better.
Almeida did great in ITT last year. He could do it.Is Yates such a horribly bad TT:er that Almeida can take 30 seconds on such a short ITT?? Even if uphill.

Really? I think there's prolly 7-8 riders off the top of my head with bigger chances: Pog, Almeida, Yates, Carlos, Roglic, Remco and Jonas.Honestly, Bernal is looking good for a Tour podium.
Let's see if the men do the same thing.TOP 7 GC riders start with TT bike in women's race and they all change bike hundreds meters after timepoint 1.
It's weird that they don't switch to a road bike with tri-bars.Let's see if the men do the same thing.
I think it's an interesting data point about how much better TT bikes are on the flats compared to road bikes.
Yeah this seems like the exact middle scenario for it. I wonder how much this is affected by the fact that probably no road riders trains on a road bike with tri bars. It's weird that they don't switch to a road bike with tri-bars.

Perhaps a more comfortable position can give the rider a better climbing performance than a more aggressive position, at least for women. It's weird that they don't switch to a road bike with tri-bars.
EDIT: But then again, in 2018 neither Rogla nor Bernal rode with tri-bars.
Vlasov did it in 33'40" two years ago.Watching the women's ITT suggests the men's winner will complete the course between 34 and 35 minutes.
It's SirCavendish with the fastest T1 split so far in an MTT.
What a time to be alive
I think 5 km on a TT bike over 5 km flat will give an advantage of 15-20 seconds, as you wrote. If the bikechange has to be done already in the climb (after a few hundreds of meter), at low speed, a bicycle change is beneficial. Especially for TT-specialists (gaining more time during those 5 flat km) and GC-riders. pocketclimbers could choose to ride a (climbing)bike from start to finish. How much of a difference TT bike brings over 5km flat? 3-4 sec/km?
If so, I wonder if it's really faster to change bikes
And finally ended up being slower than Vollering earlier this day.Cavendish with the fastest T1 split so far in an MTT.

I got laughed at for saying this a few months ago..Honestly, Bernal is looking good for a Tour podium.
