Did somebody noticed something in the face of Bernal when he came in at the finish line? He looked fresh, or relatively fresh. Watch it again. I went looking for his interview after the race and He said that He is only defending the podium and he was marking Skjelmose. So no more risks for him. He is done. Hopefully he will do a good time trial tomorrow and to an altitude camp.
Honestly, Bernal is looking good for a Tour podium.

It's 10km 8%, in fact, the TT is the same last 15km of stage 7 with the same exact climb and finish line. Both look like climbing a similar level but they haven't been able to attack each other and almeida has mostly been working for Adam. The climb is hard enough for big differences just depends who recovers better.
The bottom of the climb is not the same. In the TT, they are not doing the loop to the salt mines and the wineyard mur of Antagnes. The first 4k are flat. It is exacltly the same as the 2022 Romandie final TT (maybe 100m less, depending on the placement of the start ramp and finishing line)

Vlasov won. Geschke surprise 2nd. Mäder 3rd.
"Favorite" Rohan Diva Dennis totally imploded.
The wide roads are steeper than they look with long streches of 10-11%.

It's weird that they don't switch to a road bike with tri-bars.
Yeah this seems like the exact middle scenario for it. I wonder how much this is affected by the fact that probably no road riders trains on a road bike with tri bars.

TT bike might also just be a comfort pick for the first 5km cause you just wanna sit in the right position and not go over threshold anyway

How much of a difference TT bike brings over 5km flat? 3-4 sec/km?
If so, I wonder if it's really faster to change bikes
I think 5 km on a TT bike over 5 km flat will give an advantage of 15-20 seconds, as you wrote. If the bikechange has to be done already in the climb (after a few hundreds of meter), at low speed, a bicycle change is beneficial. Especially for TT-specialists (gaining more time during those 5 flat km) and GC-riders. pocketclimbers could choose to ride a (climbing)bike from start to finish.
