Terrible riding by the sprinter teams.

All the top sprinters were in the final 20-rider peloton. Groenewegen, Cavendish, Mørkøv, Nizzolo, Pedersen, Bol, De Kleijn and Tiller.

I’d say definitely a hearing/shifting mechanical: h was really brutalizing his handlebars when he rolled across the line.

Nizzolo won the reduced sprint with Pedersen as a second.

We don't know the outcome if the break had been caught but I wonder if they could have beaten Cavendish/Groenewegen after a hard stage?

No way his chance of beating them was only 1:99. He's an alright sprinter with a better palmares than any of the other riders in that break.
