That was a classic reduced bunch sprint, in that you don't have dedicated sprinters or trains, so the freshest or fastest guy often wins vs getting the best leadout. Anyway, some solid names there for Jenthe to take the win. It sounds like an interesting parcours, hoping to find some kind of coverage to rewatch.

Just watch on Youtube, there is a replay of the (almost) whole race:

Great to see a random podium which was impossible to predict - It would still be hard to predict the podium from the reduced group.

93 Ks to go, peloton at 1:49 now.

And, honestly, you'd think an Arab race would be able to use Arab numbers in their graphics.

Did anybody see something happen to Fausto at the finale. He is listed as same time as the winner but he crashed or had a mechanical issue. I didn't see it

I don't think it was Masnada, but I felt for the guy who was moving forward at a good rate on the right of the peloton with about 2km remaining, and then gave up with an air of resignation visible from the helicopter when the road became a stoney margin.

So this obviously means that Merlier is going to have a career year. He's clearly been sprinkled with the QS magic sprinting dust...

Nice win by Merlier, and I do agree it's annoying not to know how many kms to the finish it is.

Can Merlier win tomorrow tho? Not only is there a tough finish, there is a brutal start directly onto a steep climb.

Ofcourse not. Guys like Lutsenko, Charmig & SA Andersen won on this finish before. Pure sprinters don't stand a chance.
My favorite is Zingle, if he has good legs. I expect Van Gils, Ulissi, Herrada, Jorgensen, Lutsenko, Vansevenant, Hirt (was 2nd here last year), Formolo, Aleotti, ... to be close too.
