Same, also thought the Lotto-Jumbo rider who attacked on the climb overestimated the toughness of the climb as they were going too fast to actually make the corner and ran wide, losing all their momentum.

Surprised at everybody staying upright, was nearly a mess a couple of times. Marcel Kittel and his band of merry sub-Stapletons, though, may they go to hell. Right, off to Portugal with me.

Only 28 riders in winner's time. The rest is at least +0:08. Could hurt them in a race where gaps at the end usually tend to be very small.
8 seconds are no trouble when legend Zakarin is in the race. Specially designed athelete by Putin's labs to combat the decadent West. Capitalist Kwiatkowski has no chance

That's a really eclectic top 10. Congratulations to Kittel, I really thought that the finish was far too technical for him

Sorry 'bout that. To this day i'm not sure how to properly translate the regions of Poland, or how to translate the "województwo" word. I don't think the "province" verb is accurate enough. I've heard of the "voivodeship" word, but it sound too comical to me to be real. GOP stands for Górnośląski Okręg Przemysłowy. In english it would be something like "Upper Silesia Industrial District" or something like that. Sorry for the offtopic.

I agree totally with you about "voivodeship". I translate it as "region", since that seems to be the equivalent in EU speak and "province" sounds outdated.

Province is a noun (rzeczownik). "Verb" is "czasownik". Sorry for my didactic intrusion. But welcome to the forum :)

Who's that dude in the Polish Nats Jersey from CCC? Marczynski won it and he's Torku?

We demand answers.
Marczyński is in the race, in the Polish national team. Which, to add bonus confusion, is sponsored by CCC. As the national champ, Tomasz may have been given a one-off jersey, as normally riders in the ersatz national team would just be given the normal national team jersey with the vertical red stripe in the Ajax design.

Of course. Thanks!

That was very very very impressive by Kittel. He came out of the last corner side by side with Ewan, a short distance from the line at very slow speed. Every single circumstance that benefits Ewan's very strong acceleration (he is after all the lightest sprinter in the world), yet 88kg Kittel still crushed him. Jaw dropping.

And that after a short punchy climb, the kind where Ewan excels.

Kittel had just more speed after the corner... had nothing to do with acceleration imho.

They come out of the corner. Kittel has slightly more speed. Ewan due to his different trajectory accelerates earlier and levels up with Kittel. Once Kittel starts accelerating, he blows Ewan out of the water.

Thanks a lot, hadn't expected him to be in the race! He was quite active in the front too
