Wiggins will kill the opposition for sure. Second place will be a battle between Cancellara, Bodnar, Terpstra and Valverde.

Terpstra was killing it today. He looked so solid in the six day races.
47 kph is pretty fast on a road bike, no aero bars, no disc wheels.
Better get to the track...and ride for sixty minutes.

Surprised by Bodnar. I never knew much of him. Where is he good at? Seems to do fine in short TT's.

It's not a surprise. He won TT at three days De Panne last year. Moreover he was TT chmpion of Poland twice, beating Kwiatkowski each time and lost tittle last year to Michał by only 20 seconds. He was 9th at world championships TT too

After today's race Rowe said that Sky would look to catch Quick-Step off guard and if they could, they would "stick it in the gutter" Brailsford in the past has also talked about "putting it in the gutter"

Does anyone know what this means and the origins of where it came from?

it means their only chance of beating quickstep is if they knock them off the road with sky's team car

Lets see if Sky can figure something out....

In any case Kristoff FTW.

Could it be a reference to what the French call "mettre dans la caillasse", i.e. originating echelons, you know, closing the door, so they have to ride in the gutter?

That's exactly what it is as Netserk's link shows. Its a phrase that only applies in strong crosswinds where echelons can defeat your rivals if they are not attentive.

Boonen and co have been throwing it in the gutter in this race for years.

Race started 70 minutes early due to high winds apparently.

Wiggins giving a foul-mouthed interview at the start as usual.

Tour of Qatar @tourofqatar_

Bradley Wiggins got everyone laughing saying his time trial yesterday was "****". Seriously?! #TourofQatar

Wiggins has a track record of using foul language in highly inappropriate circumstances like press briefings and awards ceremonies. I imagine the tweet from the Tour of Qatar was a back-handed compliment.

Anyway karma prevailed as he came off today. (not injured thankfully though)

Did you see his interview with Graham Nortan? It was fairly hilarious. (and that's from someone who doesn't really like him) Even my girlfriend liked it.
