Is this reported anywhere? Surprised by the Sky link to be honest.

Does make pretty good sense. Buddies with new DS Servais Knaven. News Corp own 49% of Sky Deutschland so having the german champion in the team makes perfect commercial sense for them. (especially with the german media being so down on cycling over the last few years) I expect he will ride some of the minor classics where Knaven is DS. |Good move by Sky. Effectively if they use their media presence correctly which no doubt they will, they can now become Germany's favourite non-german team.

Did anybody pick up that chubby Milram rider that was in all the breaks in the Vuelta? Was it Rolls?

Him + Terpstra seemed to be out in front a lot. Roels is unattached I think.

Ya, in the respect I guess there are no winners.

McEwen did pretty well in the end - getting a World/Pro/Team/Tour contract with his fading abilities.

Didn't realise Traksel had gone to Landbouwkrediet either.

Sky is not related to cycling in germany and Knees is merely known by a handful of cycling fans, so I doubt that there is much effect

but he's a good rider anyhow and I think he fits very well into team sky's roster

Even if I weren't a Team LeOpard fanboy I'd have to doubt that. I think right now Leo has the most, some of the best, and the most popular German riders on a PT team, plus they have a German DS.

I can't say who will be more popular, Sky or LeOpard, but I am pretty sure LeOpard will be followed much more in the German media. Eurosport is the only station to broadcast races other than the Tour de France, and they have always been quite Schleck-friendly, as they know that a lot of people from Luxembourg watch them.

Then there is also Omega Pharma and HTC, who have the two Germans which will likely get the most results.

I don't think News Corp. has a share in either Eurosport or ARD, and Sky Deutschland is PayTV and doesn't broadcast cycling, at least not that I know. I t might be nice if they started, though!

Garmin signed a young Aussie. I think he's 20 years old and sprinter. I don't seem him on their roster for 2011. Anybody know who I'm talking about?

I think his name is AJ Giacoppo? Did well in the crits during the other night.

He'll be paid depending on his results according to sporza...
If he wins he'll probably get a huge bonus

I think that's worrying news for anyone with Di Luca in their CQ team - with no salary he has nothing to lose - he'll be back on the juice before you know it

Xavier Florencio to Geox.

That's good news. I was just thinking today where did this guy land this year. I think that's an excellent addition to a team with great leaders but that lacks some depth.

Of course he will be back on the juice. And like most riders on the juice hes unlikely to get busted.

So now that we have Di Luca in a team, we await to see who chooses Il delfino. Movistar maybe? In cycling world hes not even a "doper".

Tom Scully (from New Zealand) is maybe who you're thinking of? Tom was reported on cyclingnews and through other media as having signed for Garmin-Cervelo but if you dig a little deeper you'll see that he is in fact signed with the Slipstream Sports U23 squad.
