That's what we heard many moons ago. What we're hearing now, in the middle of the transfer season, is deafening silence.

It was a reply to Ryo, who said Riis doesn't have enough money. So they must have enough money to buy riders, maybe the riders just don't want to ride for Riis and/or Contador.

What I was getting at is that maybe Riis didn't, in fact, get the money.

Or perhaps he will wait with names until they can be presented at the Saxo Bank HQ at the worlds, gaining maximum publicity for the sponsor. That would be my only guess as to why, short of things going really badly.

There's no one good anymore available on the market. Perhaps Leipheimer... But why would he want to go to Contador.

Not aware of the previous discussion, but didn't LL's best GT results come on Contador's team?

There are riders like Paulinho and Fugslang who are looking for a team. Wait to world and we see if Bjarne has a plan or is in troubles.

I'm sure Riis give up on classics he is centered in GT with Contador. Saxo can't compite all races with other projects like Sky, BMC or Radioshack.

Anyway with Froome resign, what is the rol of Richie Porte?:D

Froome and Porte in the TdF squad, frees up Zandio + Urán to do Giro & Vuelta? Henao in Giro as well?

Or Porte replaces Knees for Cav's leadout train. (Cav replaces Gerrans in the TdF squad.)

I thunk Sky is still going to have Wiggo as their main GC man even if Froome roder better than him at the Vuelta.

The same as any other sky rider. Making a train for Cavendish.

With Porte gone as well, the Contador fans should be worried. His team might do terribly in the TTT as compared to the powerhouses BMC and RadioTrek.
And where the hell is GEL?

Dual leaders i guess. I mean it is not like Wiggins was no where. after crashing, changing his program and on a reduced race program he only finished one place behind Froome.

Although do not forget Wiggins will have one eye on the Olympics. Maybe an alternative leader will take the pressure of him in the tour and allow him to work towards a gold medal instead.

I was also thinking that they're gonna put Froome up for the Vuelta and keep Wiggo focused on the Tour.

A bit of forward thinking would of been a smart idea by Sky. Look how many leaders they have.

Sprinters
APPOLLONIO Davide
BOASSON HAGEN Edvald
SWIFT Ben
CAVENDISH Mark

Classics riders
BOASSON HAGEN Edvald
HAYMAN Matthew
THOMAS Geraint
FLECHA GIANNONI Juan Antonio

Stage racers
URAN URAN Rigoberto
ROGERS Michael
FROOME Chris
PORTE Richie
WIGGINS Bradley
LOFVKVIST Thomas
SIUTSOU Kanstansin

With Cavendhish in their team, they are top heavy with leaders imo. Could of done with an Ardennes rider. People's thoughts?

Well, the biggest teams' strategy appears to be hogging as many top class riders as possible. Tactics and team dynamics, horses for courses? Give it a break already, tis about muscle.

The rationale behind this is, of course, that if such riders are sitting on your bench, they cannot attack your riders on the road. :p

An Ardennes rider? They've got Uran and Gerrans. That's more quality than a lot of teams.

Gerrans is off to GreenEdge and even though Uran finished 5th in LBL this year, he is still a bit young and inexperienced to be called an Ardennes rider.

Oh true, that I forgot. Then I agree that an Ardennes rider would be of good use :)
However, I do think that Uran is one of the more promising Ardennes riders, and he has already shown (a) good result there. He's also very good in the Canadian GP's as well as GdL.

Henao could do very well in the Ardennes. Will be interesting to see how Froome goes as well if he enters them next year

HAYMAN Matthew - not a leader.

FLECHA GIANNONI Juan Antonio

Stage racers
URAN URAN Rigoberto
ROGERS Michael - not a leader anymore. See Porte/medical tent.
FROOME Chris
PORTE Richie - week long stage races - GT domestique.
WIGGINS Bradley
LOFVKVIST Thomas - not a leader anymore.
SIUTSOU Kanstansin - hmmmmmmm.

Is Cav even confirmed - QSOP feels much more likely now.
