not sure if he was banned, did he even race in the US when he rode for Health Care? I seem to remember he was refused a visa and never got across there

Interesting move, nice that he's got another WT slot rather than falling straight back into the national scene, which is what I feared may happen (though I'm still kind of baffled as to why he's moving from WT team to WT team while Sergio Sousa and Ricardo Mestre stay at home, mind).

ya thats true not taking anything away from pires but sergio sousa and ricardo mestre and 10 times better

No need for the captions, I've seen them riding together and it was easy to see they were really good friends. If one of my best friends died I'd have a ****ing hard time as well...

devolder already sucked hard before weylandt died. it's the lowest thing of all. devolder should be more than ashamed of himself. everyone with eyes can see he used it as an excuse

Major face palm moment here! There is only one person who needs to be ashamed and it isn't Devolder. Anyone with at least half a working brain should be able to work out to whom I am referring. :(

No worse then your behaivour in the stage thread when ww died, all you cared about were results and were the colombians ended up. Then the hypocrisy when soler crashed you said you didn't have the stomach to watch Suisse anymore. I consider myself a Dutch fanboy, but i wouldn't value thier lives more then other riders I'n the peloton. That was shameful.

FYI; I'm not suggesting people need to display grief when something like ww happens, people handle death differently that is fine.

I thought Mestre was going to AG2R?

It appears Radioshack is indeed setting up its own Luxembourg-based continental team next year. It will be lead by Bob Jungels, further candidates are Joël Zangerlé and Pit Schlechter (CT Differdange). This team could also take on the former LEOPARD TREK riders who could not find a new team. Adriano Baffi is rumoured to become the DS.

Stijn Devolder is probably to stay at Vacansoleil after all, and stagiaire Rüdiger Selig appears to have secured a spot at Radioshack for next year.

Oh damn, not Jungels. :(

So you only watched two races this year.

It was somewhere around two.

His results, 5th at Montreal aside, don't suggest he's a great loss, but he always looks classy to me. Seemed to get in lots of breaks, often looking the strongest. Like I said, maybe I always caught him on good days.

If this is true then Jungels seems to have turned down offers from Sky, Saxo Bank and Quick Step. It might be a good idea to take it slow and go to Continental level first, but to be honest I didn't believe he would do that. At RadioShack he has some good mentors with Cancellara and Klöden. Same could be said of Quick Step though, with Martin and Leipheimer.

Denifl has a great spirit and always gives everything but in terms of results he is not a great loss. I hope he can get more results with Vacansoleil next year!

That fits right in with the Vacansoleil psyche doesn't it.

Joke's aside, Jungels joining a Luxembourg continental team where the parent team has two stage racer time trial riders getting on can't be that much of a surprise.

.

I think the sky offer was a pre-contract, and a place on the gb 100% me squad for a year
