Freire would fit perfectly with Riis trick of bringing in old, over-the-hill stars and make them perform again.

that would never work on freire who is uncoachable

I don't know. To me, Freire's 'problem' seems to be that he's happy with his career, happy with himself and happy with his life. As a lot people wrote here, he might be missing the spark that fires up his motivation to the heights of winners. I always get the impression that if he feels that the race is not for him that day, he just backs off and is totally happy with it. That's not the mentality of the best sportsman, but hey, I can't blame him for being a happy guy.

I always thought that a change of team might be good for his cycling results, having or wanting to prove himself for a new team, possibly a Spanish team, might light that all-important motivational spark again. At the same time, if he is content with his life and his employer happy with employing him, why urge him to change his life?

(By the way: This might be the only reasonable way for Rabobank to end their professional contacts with Freire. Long-time employee, friendship-like contacts, someone who meant a lot for Rabo. Now they have a reason: Their roster/finances don't allow for him to renew his contract.)

palmiro masciarelli, the manager of acqua e sapone is fueling the rumours about di luca.

says he wants to unite all the abruzzese riders in the team next year, taborre, his son francesco(astana),di luca and cataldo.

hopefully il killer rediscovers the motivation to train and win big races

He was 30th at Alto de Cotobello (but Davis was 26th). And 29th on Bola del Mundo. Not super domestique, but decent. If he can find that form again (he couldn't this year, but look at his schedule), I think he could do pretty good in the Giro next year.

The way SBS has been butchered the last 2 years on transfers he might even be a candidate for the Tour if he finds that Vuelta 2010 form

Maybe. All the Danes at the Vuelta 2010 was pretty sure he would be in the Tour 2011 based on his performance in the Vuelta. It didn't turn out that way and 2011 has been a bad year for him. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the Tour though as I like him a lot.

He will most likely do the Giro or the Vuelta - or even both. I hope he'll focus on the Giro d'Italia. Riis wants to send the Danish riders (not Mørkøv, I hope), and Lund could do quite decent if he was handed a free role. Not GC-wise but through breakaways.

Saxo Bank is really weak, but at least it gives some chances for the Danish riders to shine (Klostergaard at Paris - Tours, Andre Steensen at Gran Piemonte and Aaen at Jayco Herald Sun Tour)

Anders Lund back to Saxo Bank, Will Clarke to GreenEdge according to wort.lu.
Rüdiger Selig and Thomas Rohregger to stay with Radioshack. George Bennett (Trek-Livestrong) will also be part of the team, as will Jan Bakelants.

So pretty sure no Devolder, Van Avermaet or Jungels.

Thanks for that link.

So these are all happening then..
Denifl + Mortensen to Vacansoleil, Pedersen to Christina, Klemme + Stamsnijder to Team 1t4i, Vigano to Lampre, Feillu to Saur, Clarke to GreenEdge.

Two more strong recruits for Team 1t4i. Will be intersting to see what races they can get invited to next year.

Also means Cancellara loses half of his decent cobbles support (Klemme I mean, Rast is the other half).

Cancellara must be the most pis*ed rider of the team now (beside the salary).
In fact (almost) no support for the classics in 2012 (even weaker than this year).

Time for a last minute switch!

So Tuttobici says Betancourt signs with Liquigas. No declarations from the team or rider are provided though.LINK

so i wasn't wrong weeks ago,the rumours were true.great move by liquigas.betancourt making room for il killer and the abruzzese.probably d'angelo-antenucci team will cease to exist, the sponsor will return to acqua e sapone.

Hermans could maybe help.

Nice to hear that Lund is going back to the team where he can go well. SBS have not been dominant but they have been good especially since riders like Cancellara, Breschel and the Shlecks left.

Speaks Russian apparently - Oscar linked to Katusha and Zabel as sprint coach

Oh my. Katusha. That will just be a year where he checks in a massive salary and shows nothing on the bike.
