I very much doubt if Garmin or any of the teams up the top end of the points table are at all worried about WT points when it comes to signing domestiques. Ag2r or Euskaltel might have a different attitude, but the likes of Sky, Garmin or Liquigas etc aren't going to care one way or the other if some random domestique has ten points or two.

Only 15 riders count for this points system, which leaves 15 spots for other riders, like domestiques. If he doesn't belong to the best 15 riders without points, he's probably not that good.
