Interesting comment that I translated through Google in same article :-
"Rafael Valls, the Vacansoleil, has been the last to find a gap and the WorldTour plus, but is an exception. Some more will follow that path. This is the case Juanjo Cobo who sooner or later sign with the Movistar Team."

I think some of the documented problems Cobo had at Movistar may well have happened no matter what team he had been on i.e. depression and loss of form. Maybe going back the Vuelta winner will make him a more important member of the team.

cobo won't go back to movistar, he would rather retire as he did last year until matxin offered him a spot again and convinced him to continue

Still think comfort with team mates is a part of the decision. Get the feeling Eddy is quite a shy guy and took time to fit in but now is part of the core group and feeling comfortable. They have G. to thank for a lot of that.

The young British guys seem to really love, if not full-on worship the guy.

Not unexpected, but good to read that the classics are his goal for 2012.

Absolutely, I'm pretty sure his decision was more about comfort than anything else. Edvald is the kind of guy who only performs when he has a team he feels comfortable with and he seems really happy at Sky.

Personally I was hoping he would find a team with fewer leaders so that he'd get to ride for himself more often, but at least he'll still get his chances in the classics. I was surprised to read that his main goal is to win P-R, not sure if that's very thought through or just an attempt at copying Hushovd, because M-SR and RVV suit him so much more.

Dowsett doesn't even bother to hide his man-crush on EBH.

Whilst the success (or not) of Team Sky will be judged on the results of Cav and Wiggins - for me the real success is the development of the younger riders - and the camaraderie and spirit between them is an important part of that. The Dowsett/EBH/Geraint relationship seems key already, and I expect Luke Rowe will fit in well with them.

Agree totally with Maltiv on RVV and MSR.

it's a right decision, he should develop himself as a classic specialist in Sky instead of seeking for a team where he could become the main sprinter 'cause concentrating on sprints would be a huge waste of talent for EBH.

ebh's sprint will only get less with years too. he's a power rider,. he should concentrate on climbing and flat. he could become a jalabert maybe but then he really needs to improve his engine

if he has the same development as lets say Hushovd, he will probably atleast reach de late 20`s before his sprinting will decline, but i see your point

Hushovd has said the EBH look at the later part of my career - you should ride and be the same type of rider, but you are much much better than me, give up the sprints and concentrate on the 1 day races and winning from small groups - he also said EBH doesn´t like taking advice ;)

In this article where they say that Franzoi will ride the road season with Miche, they mention that "..he will ride alongside Rebellin".

Franzoi, is he that cyclo-cross dude?

edit: should have clicked the link first, he obviously is by looking at the picture

the tour of norway in the spring could be a very interesting battle. serious bradgging rights going begging between Thor and Edvald..

edit: just seen that BMC arent riding it. Very surprised.

Does Thor usually ride it? I didn't think that either of them rode last year, but I'm not sure and I haven't time to look it up right now.

Next year's edition is the first of which it has 2.1 status. Whilst the race initially had its debut this year it was 2.2, meaning that neither Hushovd nor Boasson Hagen would be allowed to participate. However, they both have won the race earlier in their careers when it was called Ringerike GP, both of whom won 4 out of 5 stages (in Edvald's case, 4 of them were won with a time gap).

I agree, but maybe not a bad thing build form and miles in the legs to step back up 2013 - ? 2011 was a right off.

Big write off, 2012 depends on what the NRS team is like, there are rather a lot at the moment and often, especially for the CA teams, the sponsors overlap so the new team may be an amalgamation or spinoffs of the other 2XU team.
