Yes, the sudden retirement of Thomas Dekker was a surprise to everyoneEl Pistolero said:I've been saying for months already the likes of Vandevelde and Danielson should be banned for a full 2 years or scrap their results for the period in which they confessed.
I really don't understand how all these anti-doping crusaders here on CN all of a sudden consider the likes of Tyler Hamilton heroes.
What do you mean by weird decision? They bought Leipi purely for the points and now they don't need him anymore, so this was a good excuse as any to fire him. It's a perfectly normal decision with the current WT system.
At least QS have the guts to fire him unlike Sky/BMC/Rabobank approach of a rider all of a sudden retiring.![]()

According to their latest bombastic press release next year they'll field a team with "Danish, Italian, German, Spanish and Australian touch" - it's gonna be interesting to see which riders (?) from Spain and Australia they are talking about.

Maybe they will overtake Luke Roberts from Saxobank, or perhaps they have a young Australian talent in mind (Caleb Ewan or Timothy Roe anyone?- both might benefit from the clean influence of The Chicken). And could the Spanish rider be Arkaitz Duran, who have dominated the amateur scene in Spain this season? I'm sure he wants to try again at a higher level, and it doesn't seem like Movistar will take him onboard.
El Pistolero said:I agree, dopers should get away without any punishment what so ever when they snitch. Everyone should be allowed to dope as long as you have information about other cyclists. Good moral lesson for young kids watching the sport.
And these people are 100% to be trusted and should never be doubted because no doubt Leipi's biggest results in his career all came right after he started racing clean.
Ps: Cav rode for HTC for years, I doubt he cares about ethics in his team choice.
Afrank said:Finally, good for Cav. OPQS will be able to give him the leadout squad he deserves.

Some of the riders might have clauses in their contract saying that they can leave if the sponsors pull out or something similar, I don't know. But the article on LPN was made before Rabo announced that they would continue paying their riders for next year.pdluz7 said:http://http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/rabobank-to-become-white-label-team
"We will honour our contracts with the riders. The pro teams come in a separate foundation and hence contractual and financial obligations are unconditional. For the riders it is not possible now to move to another team."
I didn't understand. The rider is free.
I'm sure they'll find a way for Nordhaug to return to Sky. It makes no sense to demand him to stay, if the future of the white label team is uncertain. Even if contractually he's obliged to ride for them.maltiv said:Some of the riders might have clauses in their contract saying that they can leave if the sponsors pull out or something similar, I don't know.
