Maybe the definition of 'Classic' used extends to Nokere-Koerse, Dwars door Vlaanderen, the GP Stad Zottegem and Halle-Ingooigem?

On a serious note, though, rather than joking about Haussler's not recapturing his 2009 form, Elmiger, Goddaert and Larsson are pretty useful riders though. I just don't see them as a stronger team than Landbouwkrediet, sorry, Crelan, now, and they win by virtue of being Belgian.

It's a 1.HC race now though. :p

Goddaert was second in the Belgian Nats this year, but that's pretty much all I remember him doing this year.

Out of the riders already signed by IGM he's best cobbled classics rider.

Aren't there 7 WC invitations for Ronde and PR. I do think they will get an invitation.

Dwaars door is a one day race, so wouldnt it be a 1.hc?

It is better to use the complete name Dwars door Vlaanderen. You wouldn't write: "Rundum", "Tour de", "Giro di" or "Vuelta a"?

However "The Tour", "The Giro", "The Vuelta"... :p

What's "Rundum" supposed to be? A lot of races where they go 'rundum' stuff!

I thought he was actually talking about a specific race.

Right. AFAIK, till 2012, Dwaas Door Vlaanderen, was, however, 1.1, and will be 1.HC 2013. Seems well-deserved to me, great startlists, tradition, course, but will now certainly have to be few kms longer, with becoming 1.HC. These weeks in March and April now include only 1.HC, 2.HC and WT races, DDV was the last to step up:

Dwaas Door Vlaanderen 1.HC
Harelbeke WT
Wevelgem WT
De Panne 2.HC
Ronde WT
Scheldeprijs 1.HC
Roubaix WT
Brabantse Piil 1.HC
Amstel, Fleche Wallonne, LBL WT

The former Rundum den Henninger Turm or Rundum der Nuernberger Altstadt. I was just putting some half race names.

I would feel akward to call it "Dwars", and I certainly cant call it "Vlaanderen", "dwars door" just feel better. And I always called it that when shortening it. Dont think I will change it till we get another big race called say Dwars door xxx to confuse it with :D So bare with me and feel free to ask if u are in doubt what race I refer too :)

Indeed. I like the race.

Gabriel Rasch has surprisingly cancelled his contract with IAM to join up with Sky for next season.

I know that EBH really wanted another Norwegian in the team (I wonder if he even has that in his contract), but I would've expected them to sign some young talent instead of 36 year old Gabriel Rasch.

With Hunt and Flecha (and maybe Eisel) leaving they needed cover for the cobbles. Ryo called me an idiot at the end of last season for suggesting that he would get a protour contract (which he did), now apparently he finds himself at the worlds top team. Whats your source BTW?

Is this a race where only Pat Mcquaid may enter?

@kristoffervabo: Gabriel Rasch has cancelled his contract with IAM Cycling and will ride for Team Sky in 2013 (via @sykkelerbest)

@richeypen - Mads Kaggestad said so on Twitter (@Mads_Kaggestad).

Cover for the cobbles is a bit optimistic seeing as they have no leader.

Will be interesting to see if IAM can return Larsson, Löfkvist, Haussler to their best. They should've signed Devolder too, team of recent underachievers :p

It's quite surprising that he struggled to find a team last year (when he had a decent season) but signed 2 contracts already this year after a very poor season.

Moving to a continental team from a world tour team worked out well for Pozzato this season. Hopefully it works out for Larsson, Lofkvist, and Haussler too.

WTF?! Didn´t see that one coming. This could be the make it or brake it for Rasch.
If the "health-team" can get rid off his knee problems, he should be a good helper in the spring classics. If not, he is out of the world tour for good. Braking contracts and agreement like that is never good when your looking for the next contract...

Regarding signing some young talent instead. I think Sky have several eyes on the norwegian talent pool. But the big fishes is not old enough yet. Vegard Stake Laengen and Vegard Breen maybe... but wait 1-2 years for guys like Sven Erik Bystroem, Kristoffer Skjerping and the Hoelgaard brothers

How many free spots does Sky still have? They keep on signing and lot's of rumors of good cyclists coming there next year.

Strange how it's always the same teams that keep on signing riders and you don't hear a thing about other teams.

What is the maximum number of riders, 30?

Riders 2012: 28
Out: Appo, Barry, Flecha, Hunt, Löfkvist, Nordhaug, Cav = 7
In: Cataldo, Dombrowski, Kiryienka, Lopez, Rasch, JTL = 6

So they can sign 3 more:)
