Nah, means Gerrans was never good enough for the AIS.

GreenEdge have too many underdeveloped riders as it is. Although they would have made a move for Dennis, I think moving out of a system which you've been part of for half your life is a good thing. For GreenEdge I don't think it matters too much, they will watch them develop and then offer inflated wages after their 2 year deal is up if they like their progress.

He was banned due to a contaminated food substance, The verdict stated that it was highly unlikely that it had anything to with doping. But as its a bikeriders own responsibility to make sure that the food they eat are not contaminated he still received a ban.

I find it funny when especially Eurosport make sure to mention about 50 times that its due to contaminated food when a british riders get banned. But keep refering to Contador's case as banned for doping.

No, he was banned because he tested positive for Clenbuterol and couldn't provide a credible explanation as to how it entered his system. Clenbuterol is a performance enhancing drug, hence the reference that I made to doping.

Clinic----->

And I would encourage you to actually read the CAS judgement (in total) while you are there.

Didnt u read the verdict? Sadly most ppl dont. They just read "ban" and conclude "doping"

Sry will be back on topic from now on.

Yes, I read the verdict.

I've read the verdict thanks. Nowhere does it state that his positive test for clenbuterol was due to a contaminated food supplement. If that was the case, then he wouldn't have received a ban would he?

What's wrong with Saxo? They're probably as good as anyone at talent development... Porte, Majka, Fuglsang, Breschel, and what about Andy Schleck?

Who wouldn't want to learn from Contador?

This is totally off topic, but I do understand your take on Riis, but I dont understand who Contador is supposed to be such bad influence as he wasnt banned cos of doping. But againg this is off topic so lets continue such discussions in the clinic.

Oh its a bit naive to expect that no neo pros was gonna sign with SBTB. And now u meantion McGee he is DS on SBTB

I also read Caleb Ewan might sign with them because of McGee

In a couple of years. He should not go pro immediately in his first u23 year.

Mapei had a good solution for that, they had a B-team for those kind of riders. They rode small races, but at a professional level. Bernard Eisel, Fabian Cancellara, Michael Rogers, Filippo Pozzato, Nick Nuyens, Daniele Bennati, Cadel Evans, etc

Of course that's not possible not with the silly 30 rider limit...

That's why some Pro Teams have a development team. Saxo announced one as well, but was never established. Maybe next year.

No, they rode professional races. And yeah Benatti and Evans never rode for it, but they did start their career at Mapei.

Why do you think Cancellara never rode the WC for espoirs?

Because it's quite long. :D

MG Kvis Norda Atala TKK Pacific Torun

Rather odd that the best Polish rider in Italy's amateur scene (Pawel Poljanski) is riding for another team, Sestese.

That's not yet a real development team. It's got the name Riis Cycling in it, but I don't believe they will take one rider from them next year. Maybe 2012 was a learning year and they will beef up the roster for 2013.

I understand that OGE are going to be full next year but it annoys me that riders like McCarthy and Dennis are going to SBS and Garmin. OGE do have quite a few young riers already Howard, Travis Meyer, Hepburn, Durbridge... but why not continue in that vein and snare Aussie talent, in their early stages. Surely the management should have tried to account for this.

Does anyone know CJ Suttons' contract with Sky, because if i were him i would try leave now that Swift, EBH and Rowe (maybe) shall go for sprints. It was bad enough with Cav there this year for him and he had a great season last year with KBK and a Vuelta win.

He could learn from Cantwell but he could be a bit too young- maybe a staigareship at the mid point of the season.

I can´t see why all this concern about youngsters joining Saxo bank, aussies or not?
Saxo do an impressive work with their talents, they get all the guidance, support and help anybody could ever ask for, they get a place of their own, teammates who lives nearby and personal trainers. Nobody is left on their own, and they train in the best enviroment possible.
I can surely think of other teams who didn´t give a rats azz about their well being and many talents wasted or set back because of it, you never see that on Saxo and they never put any pressure but let their talents develop in a descent manner, just as it should be.

Maybe somebody got other issues with the team or whatever, but their talent work is as good as any, if not the best.
