I find it funny when especially Eurosport make sure to mention about 50 times that its due to contaminated food when a british riders get banned. But keep refering to Contador's case as banned for doping.
JRanton said:No, he was banned because he tested positive for Clenbuterol and couldn't provide a credible explanation as to how it entered his system. Clenbuterol is a performance enhancing drug, hence the reference that I made to doping.
Cimber said:Didnt u read the verdict? Sadly most ppl dont. They just read "ban" and conclude "doping"
Sry will be back on topic from now on.

And I would encourage you to actually read the CAS judgement (in total) while you are there.
theyoungest said:What's wrong with Saxo? They're probably as good as anyone at talent development... Porte, Majka, Fuglsang, Breschel, and what about Andy Schleck?
Cimber said:This is totally off topic, but I do understand your take on Riis, but I dont understand who Contador is supposed to be such bad influence as he wasnt banned cos of doping. But againg this is off topic so lets continue such discussions in the clinic.
Oh its a bit naive to expect that no neo pros was gonna sign with SBTB. And now u meantion McGee he is DS on SBTB

In a couple of years. He should not go pro immediately in his first u23 year.LaFlorecita said:I also read Caleb Ewan might sign with them because of McGee

That's why some Pro Teams have a development team. Saxo announced one as well, but was never established. Maybe next year.El Pistolero said:Of course that's not possible not with the silly 30 rider limit...
El Pistolero said:Mapei had a good solution for that, they had a B-team for those kind of riders. They rode small races, but at a professional level. Bernard Eisel, Fabian Cancellara, Michael Rogers, Filippo Pozzato, Nick Nuyens, Daniele Bennati, Cadel Evans, etc

Ryo Hazuki said:the mapei thing was just an u23 team. the same as rabo and so many others have. and nuyens, bennatti and evans were never part of it
El Pistolero said:No, they rode professional races. And yeah Benatti and Evans never rode for it, but they did start their career at Mapei.
Ryo Hazuki said:they have one in fact. they ride in italy. half polish team with some venezuelans too. forgot it's name
That's not yet a real development team. It's got the name Riis Cycling in it, but I don't believe they will take one rider from them next year. Maybe 2012 was a learning year and they will beef up the roster for 2013.Ryo Hazuki said:they have one in fact. they ride in italy. half polish team with some venezuelans too. forgot it's name

greenedge said:I understand that OGE are going to be full next year but it annoys me that riders like McCarthy and Dennis are going to SBS and Garmin. OGE do have quite a few young riers already Howard, Travis Meyer, Hepburn, Durbridge... but why not continue in that vein and snare Aussie talent, in their early stages. Surely the management should have tried to account for this.
Does anyone know CJ Suttons' contract with Sky, because if i were him i would try leave now that Swift, EBH and Rowe (maybe) shall go for sprints. It was bad enough with Cav there this year for him and he had a great season last year with KBK and a Vuelta win.
