I think Saxo Bank's squad is closed. Pro Teams can be 28 riders no-neo-pro and according Cycling Quotient Saxo Bank has:

Boaro, Cantwell, Mads Christensen, Contador, JJ Haedo, LS Haedo, Hernández, Jorgensen, Jull Jensen, Kroon, Lund, Majka, Morkov, Noval, Paulinho, CA Sorensen, Niki Sorensen, Matteo Tosatto and Vither
+
Bennati, Breschel, Bruseghin, Kolobnev, Kreuziger, Kump, McCarty, Roche, Sutherland and Zaugg

They are 29 riders, but I think Bruseghin isn't certain. So Saxo Bank have 28 riders and just can sign two more, that must be neo pro. Am I wrong?

Only 23 riders are official, and McCarty is neo pro.
They can have 30 riders if 2 of them are neo pros. So as it looks now they can have 29 riders in total, but with the option for another neopro, IF they are 28 riders on normal contracts, and if Im not mistaken Juul Jensen is also neo pro another year, but I´m not 100% sure he still will be in 2013.

i would be very disappointed if riis didn't renew with pires tbh

And Tosatto.

I know Marycz is 100% out and must find a new team.

If you can conclude anything out of McGee´s statements, then JJ should be renewed as well, and probably his brother to. :-(

Majka already signed his contract in April, I bet he´s biting his tongue, he got a couple of offers from other teams during the Vuelta, but a natural prolonging by Riis, and again I think he got him cheaper than he´s actually worth.

I hoped they gave Canwell another chance, so very happy he got renewed.

Steensen says he got screewed, and in my opinion a bit strange they choose to prolong with Lund instead of bringing back Steensen, but I know Lund do a good job out of sight from the TV cameras, and his better on the cobbles than Steensen, and probably fits better in as a team player than Steensen who showed his dissatisfaction when he didn´t got a new contract through the press.
So based on this, there would be 5 - 6 riders left in the dark.
My guess is these remaining riders are done on Saxo, including Marycz:

Jaroslav Marycz
Luke Roberts
Ran Margaliot
Takashi Miyazawa
Troels Vinther
Volodymir Gustov

they probably, will cut the haedo bros.

Depends on who they can get instead, they are on the verge.
But I surely hope you are right, they have no place on the team in my opinion.

Wasn't that Vinthers first season at WT level though? Also Riis might keep Roberts so he can help/mentor McCarthy.

Yes, we are right about McCarthy, but Juul Jense isn't neo pro (look)

So they can sign one more rider without cut nobody. Maybe Luke Roberts to help McCarthy or Miyazawa by asian interest.

How is Majka a neo-pro? He's been on the team since 2011, thought you were only neo-pro in your first year with a prof contract.

I don't understand this system...

No, you're a neo-pro for the first two years :)

Neo pros in the UCI definition have this status for 2 years. Juul wasn't a neo pro in de UCI definition because he was 1 year too old when becoming pro.

With Betancur gone, Garzelli and Di Luca being linked to other teams and a heap of other riders going elsewhere, does anyone know if Acqua e Sapone is continuing? I don't think I've seen any concrete news of anyone new signing up for them.

No, the team decided to stop. The main sponsor is not renewing with them.

Thanks for highlighting that, I'd missed it. Being passed over for the Giro really did for them, didn't it? Such a shame and shame on Acquarone - they were my favourite team in the peloton. I know Garzelli wants to ride for one more year. Interesting to see where he ends up or whether he calls it a day.
