Well, that is one positive that suggests Efapel will still be around if they're signing riders. After all, they were easily the strongest team in Portugal this year, but they royally dropped the ball at the Volta, in-fighting from the word go, and big arguments afterwards, and then of their top names this year, Rui Sousa's gone to Boavista, Arkaitz Durán and Ricardo Vilela to OFM, Nuno Ribeiro rumoured there too and Hernâni Brôco's retired. Seems they're left with Brandão, Sérgio Sousa and whoever they can pick up, so in a way, if there's uncertainty about the Euskadi project, this isn't a bad move for Garikoitz. Maybe as a permanent fixture in the Portuguese péloton they'll work out which way round his name goes, since he won jerseys at A Volta before, being called "Bravo Garikoitz" all the way round.
