On Stetina, i think he is a good signing, he is a strong rider, BMC needs more firepower in mountains and in hilly classics, Stetina provides this, he is a solid all rounder.

Even if you don't feel van Garderen or Evans are ever going too need real support in the mountains Stetina is still good enough to produce good results on his own, and BMC have too believe in their captains, and so they got to have some strong guys who can support them if they turn out to be better in the future.
He could also captain the team in some american races to free up van Garderen to focus more on the Tour.

They don't have an offensive climbing GC rider and he's not good enough to support a defensive climbing GC rider. He's just another Morabito/Moinard clone and not going to improve their laughable talent/spending ratio.

I think he has the potential to be better than both of them and possibly already is. A good buy but teams tend to lock up their best climbers. The best Spanish and Colombian climbers are probably contracted already but even the second best of those are still good. Evans and TJVG are not offensive climbers either. I think Stetina will be good for TJVG in the future. With Evans going soon, BMC have to decide what sort of team they want to be and if TJVG does not improve much they might take another option or look for another captain. Velits was an okay buy but he just has not delivered so far. Maybe like Roche he realises he is not a team leader even though he has shown glimpses in the past. Kreuziger looked to be heading in the same direction but he has had a great season so far. Saxo should be happy with his transfer.

No Ten Dam to sky and no Costa to sky :) nice

Also, Tinkov said he would offer 10 mln to Froome even though I don't believe he did.

Would be interesting to see Froome without sky marginal gains. It will give us quite an insight.

Sky will build there team around Froome for the next 2/3 years with Wiggins being on a downward curve why would he consider riding for anyone else.

Especially a Russin owner who is flaky at best and has a history of turning a blind eye to doping.

Sky doesn't have the highest budget in the peleton in terms of riders wages and availalaibty to pay wages to riders such as Astana or BMC do.

However when talking overall, Sky has one of the highest, easily in Top 3 overall budget ( that includes equipment budgets, scientific approaches etc. everything basically )

That is exactly as I understand it. For example, their energy gel's were specially developed from a firm in Switzerland and each costs about £200. Sky go on a lot about marginal gains but a lot of these come at a substantial cost which some teams choose not to invest it and which the others do not have the financial ability to invest in.

are you joking or is it really the truth? and how many energy gels do they eat in a single stage race?

I saw it quoted in one the English cycling magazines and I had a similar 'really?' moment. I do find it quite hard to believe because, as you say, adding up the costs for each stage alone seems mind-boggling.

Yes, each gel contains a little powdered gold...
