What's the rule on how many Neo-Pros a team can have, is there a minimum and maximum?
Damien Howson has been signed by GreenEdge, he was a team trainee this season, but I'm assuming he's signed as neo-pro for the next two seasons. I see the Yates twins signing as a positive step. Two good young riders who can climb some. GE needs to boosts it's climbing stocks, especially if the team wants to develop or sign a GT contender in the future.
Other top young Aussies sign for other World Tour teams as neo-pros and trainees, Rohan Dennis and Glen O'Shea at Garmin Sharp come to mind. As much as we'd like it, GreenEdge doesn't have a mortgage on top young Australian talent. So there's nothing to stop GreenEdge going out and signing young foreign talent.
I don't believe Caleb Ewan is thinking of turning pro for next season, so it's not like the Yates twins are taking spots from top young Aussie prospects.
