Aidis Kruopis from An Post to Verandas Willems.

Good move for Veranda's Willems who lost Bille and Claeys but gained Cordeel and Kruopis the last one might get sme real chances in sprints

Does funvic have any free spots?
Will they sign any big riders?

No budget. They may sign some a couple of argentinians with good track records, but aside from brazilians that's about it.

According to CQRanking and PCS they have exactly one rider signed for 2016: Pablo Urtasun. They are looking for a roster of 16 riders.

Interestingly they have not been invited to San Luis.

Nuno Bico , U23 National Champion of Portugal will ride next season in desenvolvement Team of Etixx QuickStep - Awt Greenway .

Source: Is Facebook!
Well it's probably better than slaving away for Rui Sousa :)

Hopefully he gets into mountainous 2.1 stage races like Route du Sud, Tour de l'Ain, Czech Tour...

A shame he doesn't take Frederico Figueiredo and David Rodriguez with him.

I agree with that both are very good riders , maybe in the next years they could go into another teams , maybe awt chose bico because his skills and age , is just 20 , the other two are more old than him , But i think Frederico more year less year will go to a foreign team maybe pct or WT

That is a bit of a loss for An Post, Kruopis is a good solid sprinter but he might have requested the transfer and Verandas racing program does suit him

Yes, it's one thing for An Post to lose riders every year to PCT or WT teams. That's part of their purpose after all. But this year they've lost a couple of their better riders to other Conti teams.

On a related note, they've lost all but one of this year's Irish contingent, which is a problem given that their main sponsors are Irish and sponsor them largely because of their role as nursery for Irish riders. They have however announced that they will have six Irish riders on the roster next year, at least five of them new. I will confess that I'm struggling to think of who they might be. A lot of the best domestic riders are a bit too old and a bit too settled in real jobs for it to be easy to see them heading off to Belgium to live in penury. The national champion, Damien Shaw, for instance is an excellent rider, but he's also a 31 year old firefighter.

Any news on José Tito Hernández and Jordan Parra? They were with GM Cycling but, based on PCS, their 2016 doesn't include the Colombians.

Probably Sky. It will be tragic seeing a talented rider like Doull end up as a domestique.

Sounds like he sees himself concentrating on one day races, not sure why the team can't be named

And two of the few Irishmen, Philip Lavery and Sean Downey, are moving to Dynamo Cover (We Are Wales?).

Boivin and Craven move to Cycling Academy.

Is 30+ too old to turn pro? I mean guys like Damien Shaw definitly got talent so why does no conti or proconti team pick him up?

Not if it's for a WT contract (JC Peraud), but for a conti team, it makes little financial sense.

Alright! So if he wanted to, he probably would be able to find a team?

Because Sky will want to announce it themselves when the times comes, look at how boring and painful it was to wait for Sky to announce the transfers this season even if they were all open secrets

Sure, but it would most likely be a Continental team, which would mean a substantial pay cut at best. A Pro Continental contract would mean an almost certain pay cut.

Shaw would need some more serious results before getting close to a WT contract. Racing at National level is expensive unless you're at a generous Continental team with a decent budget, racing at Continental level even more so.

A 31yo like Shaw probably has other priorities at this point in life.

What do riders at conti teams approximatley earn ?

''Continental teams have no minimum salary requirements. Many Continental teams pay their riders nothing. Some pay $20k AUD to each rider, and others pay up to $50k to some of their riders. From what I understand, until recently it was common that some teams would require that select rider(s) bring aboard a cash paying sponsor to ensure he gets a ride with the team (i.e. to pay his salary). This even happened at the higher levels as well. Apparently the recent UCI financial governance and new level of transparency has done away with this dodgy way of running a cycling team at the professional level. Perhaps it still happens – I don’t know.''

''A good domestique at PT will make between €40k-€100k per year.'' So even being in PT sucks , so imagine CT
