That's still a patchy sqaud compared to other teams, 42x16ss.

Sky's 9th best climber is better than their 3rd best. Etixx's 6th best classic man is better than their 2nd best.
Huh? A fully fit Majka and Kreuziger can match their opponents on Sky except Froome and possibly Landa/Thomas who've only climbed with the best at one GT.
Kreuziger will never get close to his shape of his early years. The guy was an early bloomer. He is now a hill rider.

Froome, Landa, Nieve, Henao, Thomas, Poels, König are definitely better climbers. So is Intxausti. And perhaps even Kennaugh and Boswell.

Majka is another story. But he is their third leader, not a helper.
2013 Kreuziger was probably stronger than 2013 Contador, he was one hell of a domestique. The bigger problem IMO is the lack of support for Sagan in the classics.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the last few posts of this thread considering the predilection of Contador fans for complaining about the lack of team support?

A fan can both
1. believe Contador is capable of winning GTs more or less on his own (he's shown this in the past)
2. wish he'd have better support so a scenario like stage 8 of the 2014 Dauphiné doesn't happen (and even then he almost handled the situation on his own - almost) or even just for a bike if he gets a mechanical on the final climb.

I would prefer this thread to contain only actual transfer news or transfer rumours. The discussions of individual teams (well, it's always either Sky or Tinkoff) are very boring, repetitive and should better be left in seperate threads for these teams.

Yes, in other words the team doesn't matter except when it does.
Yes. I don't see what your issue is with that statement nor why it is ironic according to you.
Lack of support is not an issue until he actually needs to support. Which is only on flat and hilly terrain, if he gets a mechanical and if an opponent manages to get a big gap on him in a tactical move (again, see stage 8 of the 2014 Dauphiné).
He can win GTs on his own, he has done so in the past, but of course there are possible scenarios in which a lack of teammates could cost him a lot of time. Is it that hard to understand?

You are right, sorry for taking this off topic. :) I too get annoyed when fans of certain teams take over entire threads speculating which riders could maybe possibly perhaps in a certain universe race which races.

Eh, BBB is right. I could write a long post explaining the hypocrisy of Contador fans regarding his teams, but this isn't a thread for it nor will it serve a purpose as any discussion with them about it is absolutely pointless.

Go on then, post it in the Contador thread. Complaining about something and then backing off "hmph arguing with you is pointless  " when someone counters your point is pretty childish.

Zurlo of UHC rumoured to Lampre. Ponzi of Southeast rumoured to CCC.
Very interesting move that would be.

About Zurlo, PCS had him as staying at UHC for 2016 a week or two ago. Shows how little they know, I guess.

CCC in negotiation with a few riders and at least one signing so far. What's happening with Rebellin? He's had a great season, including a win only last month. I hope he keeps going. Well, frankly I wish he'd go back up to WT, but so long as he's still active.

Which WT team would want a 45 year old man? Lampre? :D Astana?

I heard from Davide, that he is still in the thinking box if he will continue next year, he feels he still puts out solid results. So i wont be suprissed if he takes on another year with CCC.

He would have been the most successful rider at Jumbo this season.

Well I'm glad it's his decision and not the team's.

The director of the Movistar Team, Eusebio Unzue, has said that he is about to announce the signing "a couple of riders" that are recognized for their "experience and quality". Unzue spoke on Wednesday after being awarded the Royal Order of Sporting Merit by the Higher Sports Council. One signing is Colombian Carlos Betancur, whose arrival was announced yesterday.

Moreno is one of them. But who is the other? It has to be a rider over the age of 30. Leukemans for a man in the cobbled classics? Nocentini for hilly races?

Rodolfo Torres? His new team will be announced in a couple of days. I know he's not experienced based on years raced in Europe, but he's already 28 years old.

CCC and Rebellin are already negotiating about a contract for next season.
