What happened to Mamykin? He had such a good neo-pro season last year that I find it weird for him to end up outside of the WT. Are his injuries from Vuelta's crash so bad that he isn't expected to recover?

Dont know any exact reasons, but due to him being on my cq team this year I followed his results closely, and all year he's been prominently absent from the results. Even when in promising breaks on mountainous stages he was left behind by average climbers, so sadly enough his showing last year might be something to discuss in another subforum. I for one don't think he'll deliver on his promises, but I'd like to be proven wrong.

If Katusha lets go of their supposed right hand to Zaka, I think it's safe to assume he's not about to make a turnaround...
Well, he was 20th in TdS and I think I saw him being quite useful for Zakarin a couple of times in various races so I think for a 22 years old rider it was not that bad and I would like to know some further details about why his team (and all other WT teams) have decided it's not enough to keep him at this level. Or maybe it was his decision, like in case of Antunes.

Matvey Mamykin to Burgos-BH.

Woah.
Really strange move
But a good signing for Burgos (I assume they'll be ProConti next year?)

Yeah it's really weird. Last year he looked so strong in Vuelta. This year wasn't so good, but he is stIll very young. Maybe he wants more freedom or those injuries are much worse then we can imagine.

Modolo ---> Cannondale (team announcement)
Modolo's not the cheapest rider to bolster a squad with, seems like Cannondale are flush with funds now that they got a sponsor and the crowdfunding campaign was a success. I wonder how many other teams will go that route?

Anyway, Modolo was a good pickup for Slipstream in my opinion.

I fear the same. I took a liking on him last year and despite some sighting I felt something had turned rather wrong with him.
Cycling is a very unpredictable sport when it come to expectation of young prospects. So many promising youths gone missing from the big scene when some huge transformers bursting on it.

Slipstream certainly has some salary budget to play with because they've lost a lot of quality riders. Talansky, Van Baarle, Formolo, Slagter- that has certainly freed up some funds to spend on other riders even if their budget didn't increase.

But yeah, there are signs that there will be a budget increase. Their 2017 budget was supposed to be $15m, while Vaughters once said that they need $18m "to have a good team" for 2018. I don't know if they've managed those $18m but they've reportedly managed $9m from secondary sponsors and $7m was expected from a new main sponsor (not sure how much EF will eventually provide). Then you have $0.5m from crowdfunding and another $0.5 from Fairly Group as a match to crowdfunding. Although it was indicated that the crowdfunding money would be rather used for scientific research than to sign new riders, the whole budget might be like 10-15% bigger than in previous year. Vaughters said that they do not expect to match the budget of the biggest teams in the future but maybe they will be closer to the midpack.

Kristian Sbaragli seems to have confirmed via his Twitter 2017 will be his last year with DiData: https://twitter.com/Kri_s90/status/913421923727626240
Yesterday during the coverage of Coppa Sabatini the commentator said that he signed for an emerging team but he couldn't reveal which because it's not announced yet.

I'll take a guess, Israel Cycling Academy. Up and coming and if he goes it'll help for their invite to the Giro (while also assuring him a squad to go to the Giro with too).

On the other hand, Israel Cycling Academy already has Enger, Jensen, Örken, Avila and Raim for sprints, so Sbaragli would add hardly anything other than GT experience and having an Italian rider. He hasn't developed at all these past years and his last top-ten was at stage 5 of the Giro.

This is true, but does not necessarily disqualify such a move. Israel Cycling Academy is all about the Giro now and if RCS asked for more Italians, then they will sign more Italians even if they seem superfluous.

Speaking of Cyling Academy, will they sign their Brazilian stagiaire Nicolas Sessler?
The guy finished 17th in the Pro Ötztaler, his first race as a stagiaire, and had a good season at Lizarte, you'd think that a PCT team would try to pick him up, Caja Rural would also be a good fit for him.
Caja have already taken on two pseudo-neos in Gonzalo Serrano and Álvaro Cuadros out of their own feeders (Serrano was decent as a stagiare, and Cuadros was in the Etixx feeders until 2016), and their own feeders also have Xavi Cañellas and Óscar Pelegrí in, who have both been excellent in the amateur scene this season, so I'd have thought they would probably be prioritized over picking up somebody from the Movi feeder, although I think he would have to look elsewhere than Abarcá since they've got their homegrown younger talents they're prioritizing (Castrillo going pro and Samitier likely to follow) as well and if they do promote somebody with more flat strength it's more likely to be Zhygunou. If ICA don't take him on, Burgos-BH may be a good fit since he's gone well in the Spanish calendar, they're looking to expand and have a few decent young riders on board, and with Mendes have now got a Lusophone element (plus Simón, if that transfer clears, spent some time on Soul Brasil). Or Wilier, who have always had a bit of a South American element.

Yes, Burgos-BH would be a good team for him. Wilier, I don't see them as a good team, usually they resign riders who bring sponsors and not the good ones who bring results, but don't bring extra sponsors (Monsalve, Finetto), I'd rather see him at Androni, Savio isn't exactly a saint, but he knows how to run a decent team, signs good riders, knows how to handle big talents and with the Coppa Italia pretty much sealed up he also has a Giro wildcard, not that riding a gt would be that important for a first year neopro, even if he's not super young.

Finkler aint ready for the pro's yet though! But certainly the most promising Brasilian talent we have seen in years. He should be riding in Spain again in 2018.

Simon Clarke extends with Slipstream for 3 more years. I think it's no coincidence that he's got the same contract length as Uran. I guess he is one of the Rigo's favourite domestiques- they always ride the same GTs and use a very similar equipment configuration and it's important when you need to swap bikes with your team-mate.

Cannondale also confirmed on twitter that it is certain that Rolland will ride for them next year.

Barguil at Fortuneo will be the sole leader for the Tour, not even with a sprinter in the team (like Cofidis)

Surely McLay will be on the squad, or is he leaving?
I doubt McLay will be selected next year giving his performances this year. Of course he can improve, but currently he's not good enough.

He may well not be there next season or not be selected if the team is all about Barguil, but have you seen their roster? By their dubious standards McLay is very much good enough.

...and he's off to Cannondale
