Sponsors and team owners are directly relevant to professional road racing. In an era where kleptocracies, dictatorships and plutocratic supporters of grim regimes are using cycling to rehabilitate their images, that’s part of the sport.
You are absolutely right, but when I come to the transfers and rumours thread, it's because I want to read about transfers and rumours. The politics don't have to be brought up every time Bahrain-Merida or ICA are mentioned.Zinoviev Letter said:Broccolidwarf said:rlntlssly said:Yeah, two authoritarian dictatorships and a democracy.Jagartrott said:Israel, Bahrein and UAE - what a nice trio.

Otherwise you could keep on going. Like saying Trek and Education First are just the long arm of Trump or something. Please. Let's not go there![]()
The point is that we should keep the politics out of this thread or it's going to become an ugly thread about politics rater than about tranfsers.Der Effe said:Dekker_Tifosi said:Let's leave the national politics out of the sport would you.. What an awful post. Trek or Education First aren't a propaganda vehicle to promote jingoism and fear mongering.

Bakkie said:Should Terpstra leave? Maybe he can sign his last lucrative contract with another team, a team that pays more than QST?
