Will probably be support for Pinot in the Tour (or an other GC). Lets see if he can go stage hunting there, otherwise he still has the TTs. FDJ has a good overall squad though. Already this year they would have had 3 guys in the Giro top20 in the final GC if not for Pinots illness.
Don't forget the cobbled classics, he could be a team leader in those.

True.

Lennard Hofstede from Sunweb to Lotto NL for a two year contract:
https://www.teamlottojumbo.com/cycling-news/team-lottonljumbo-signs-hofstede-and-continues-with-olivier

Lennard Hofstede has signed a two-year contract with Team LottoNL-Jumbo. Moreover, Daan Olivier has renewed his contract with the Dutch World Tour team. He inked a new deal which extends his stay at Team LottoNL-Jumbo for a year.

“Lennard is a young, promising Dutch rider”, Sportive Director Merijn Zeeman says about Hofstede, who’s currently riding for Team Sunweb. “We’re looking forward to develop his talent. He’ll get an important role in the support of our GC riders.”

“I’ve chosen for this team because Team LottoNL-Jumbo has grown into one of the best teams in the world. Also, at this team young riders are guided really well”, Hofstede explains his choice. “I’m happy they showed confidence in me despite the fact that up until now my season hasn’t gone as well as I had hoped. I hope I’ll be able to develop myself into an established rider in the grand tours to support the team’s leaders. Besides this, I want to ride for good results in smaller races.”

Daan Olivier crashed hard in the Tour Down Under. In May, he fell again, so the rider had to rehabilitate yet again. “Daan had a lot of setbacks this season”, Sportive Director Merijn Zeeman said. “We believe in Daan’s talent. We want to give him the time to keep growing and developing.”

Olivier is now on the right track. In the Tour of Utah, he’s the current leader in the mountain classification. “After my good comeback in the peloton last year, I wanted to build on it for this season. Because of the two heavy crashes and health issues I was behind for several months”, the 25-year-old rider says. “The team stood by me through all of it. The support of the team and the good coaching are both part of me being on my way back.”

Wonder where Sosa will go. Trek makes sense, but I guess every single team on the WT is interested in his signature. He is ready to go WT early and get a role like Egan at this first year at Sky, but skipping the Tour and doing Vuelta instead I think. He won't do as well since I simply don't think he is as talented, but he is still an amazing talent.

Sky will swoop in at the end and snag him. ;)

Kreuziger to Dimension Data
Good to see them signing decent riders like Valgren and Kreuziger. They need more riders to perform when Cavendish no longer delivers.
They also need someone to lead by example for O’Connor and Meintjes if they want to achieve more than they have in climbing heavy races. Maybe his work ethic might rub off on those perennial underachievers Lachlan Morton and Merhawi Kudus as well.

Hopefully this is the start of Di Data becoming more than pack fill.

Major reason why Kreuziger changed teams is his desire to only ride one GT each and more one day races, so he could spend more time with his family.

What?
The guy only gets good results right after he comes back from a break and is training in Eritrea, at the start of the season or before Burgos, so I don't think that his work ethic is the problem.
Speaking of Kudus, he's also out of contract and I think that riding for a different team could be a good choice for him (and the other Eritreans).

I hadn't noticed, but that's quite true.
And very damning.

Good point on Kudus’ results, I hadn’t really picked up on that trend. Either way, it’s sad to think that these two were once seen as potential superstars of the sport, yet disappear in World Tour races. If the team dynamic is more successful hopefully it rubs off.

Kudus still only is 25 next year. He misses his breakthrough performance after some decent showings so far. Maybe a new team could help him. Cofidis still needs a successor for Moncoutie at the Vuelta. That might be interesting at very least.

Haha, Jesper Hansen's agent is very secretive regarding whom he's negotiating with. He won't name names but says it's two WorldTeams - one English and one French.

Hansen himself says he's not negotiating with the English team.

So I guess it's 50/50 where he ends up. I don't think there has ever been a Dane at FDJ and in this millennium there hasn't been one on AG2R either.
