Yeh i can see the izagirre brothers leave bahrain as they dont seem to integrate into the team very well.
I can be completely wrong about this but this is the impression i get.

I remember that Antunes said last year that he signed a deal with pro-conti team for 2018 because he wanted to spend one year at pro-conti level learning and then possibly move to WT in 2019. The problem was that he signed 2 years deal with CCC so that didn't seem to make sense. Now it suddenly does.

What? That was already the plan this year before he took himself out in Tirreno lol.

I don't think it's realistic. He hasn't been looking that good in the classics so far (I know he has scrambled home a couple of placings in Gent-Wevelgem and Dwars) and doesn't really seem to be getting stronger than he was in 2016.

I may of course be proven wrong but I think things are looking bleak for QuickStep if they are entering the spring classics with Gaviria as their prime rider.

But the trio of Gilbert, Stybar and Lampaert is still fearsome, although Lampaert hopefully will not win any more races because better riders on his team have a target on their backs.

Castroviejo hasn't performed differently from his last years at Movistar. But Izagirres would be crazy. Ion is at a completely different level compared to Castro. He won't have anything close to the freedom his ability deserves if he goes to Sky. I guess it depends on how much he values a fat pay check.

He was pretty good in San Juan at the start of the season and managed to finish on the podium.
He also wants to do Track, so Sky is almost perfect for him.
He has a big engine, 2 years ago he pushed 460W for over 34min in the European Championships U23 - ITT

He's a TT specialist with a big engine, is a Track cyclist can climb a bit and could do well on the cobbles, he should be the kind of rider who does well at Team Sky.

Well Valverde has found good form after his broken kneecap so it's possible Gilbert could as well.

For who will lead QS in the cobbled races, Lampaert, Stybar, Gaviria, Viviani. They still have options.

Well, he's a pursuit specialist, which means - like Thomas, Cummings, Kennaugh - if he gets a gap with 4km or less to go, he won't be caught. Kennaugh and Cummings won multiple WT stages just doing that trick.

If there is one thing thats a given in cycling its that QS always will figure things out. They always do - as I have said countless of times, best team in cycling.

They have lots and lots of cards to play still. I'd imagine that Lampaert will step half a level up (I think he is improving a bit year by year), he is Vandenbergh on steroids. Actually reminds me a bit of Terpstra, altho Im pretty sure he never will be able to win De Ronde the way Terpstra did. But Lampaert is the real deal. Styby and Gilbert aren't getting better, but they still have at least one very good campaign left. Gaviria is the big question mark, he better start delivering in the classics and I think he has the potential. Hopefully there will also be space for riders like Mørkøv and Asgreen, the first is having a great season and has really taken a step up and I believe that Asgreen has the ability to be a very strong superdomestique in the classics, a rider a bit ind the mold of Daniel Oss in the future. He is super strong.

I think it could be Lampaert's time. I'd certainly like it to be. But working against him, and I know he's had to work for others, but apart from his two Dwars wins, his only top 10 on a cobbled classic is 7th in the 2015 Paris-Roubaix, which was unselective enough that a 58 year old Martin Elmiger came 5th.
