Yeah, the UCI getting creamed is what I am waiting for but unless somebody rolls over in that organization how does that happen?

Good question. To what extent are UCI able to be held accountable by the national bodies? (I'm guessing the answer is 'not enough')

ASO might be able to have a crack at them somehow....IF they felt inspired to.

For sure there is no better time to confess other than when a large event is on and you have a book (potentially) coming out.

As for belief in either Tyler of Landis..?
Thats hard from where I sit. I believe that "that" era of cycling brought with it an accepted use of "enhancements" and all knew the unwritten rules, some got caught in the process which was unfortunate, some got left behind and some were excluded from the "club". But, but, they all knew what was going on and accepted each other for it.
But times have changed, thankfully. And these allegations/confessions do nothing for our sport except bring back to the publics attention the fact that we're still trying to clean up something that happened, a lot, 10 years or so ago.
I'm still feeling a bit sorry for Tyler though. I can't explain why other than the depression thing thats come to roost over recent times.

I'm not sure ASO is clean. I have posted before about how the TdF stands out vs the other GT's on the amount of positives (0) of main players during the LA years. Alot of coincidence there.

I'm with you in brushing it under the carpet.

Joking aside, why do you think Tyler Hamilton had the final say on when this went to air? That doesn't make much sense IMO.

I think the Holocaust did happen, I think the bunch knew that too.

I don't want to learn from old mistakes. I want to make the same ones on my own and make them again. Thats my right, yes?

Saying that is actually illegal where I come from. In Belgium we have a law called the "negationism law" which states it is illegal to deny the Holocaust occurred.

Guys - Let's drop the Holocaust talk and stay on topic, please.

Someone on twitter is trying to tell me that all the evidence against LA is hearsay.
ACF94 - You know as well as anyone that some people will believe until their dying breath. Even if Lance is indicted and convicted, they'll believe it was a set-up, or conspiracy. Even if Lance confesses, they'll believe he was coerced.

Funny how this day ties up a series of dates between a few riding friends, one being in July of '95 when we all found out Lance exited the Tour early due to cancer, it was the main conversation of the ride.
July 95? He didn't get diagnosed until 10.2 in 1996 and announced the diagnosis 6 days later. You should have called him when you found out!;)

Hincapie: "I believe in cycling. I believe in what cycling has done. I believe cycling has done more than any other sport to make it a clean sport. Why can’t we focus on that?”

Sounds kind of desperate...

Yeah..lets not get into what happend a few years ago, everything is good now, it is clear to everyone that no one uses PEDs any more...ehhhh.

I quickly checked the domain owners, there's not much to be found, so it appears to be rather new, that site... Heh.

I think you'll find that it's registered with Domain Proxy Inc, a company owned by GoDaddy.com that lets you register a domain with their address and 'phone, so completely anonymously, in other words. Apparently they do fold at the first sniff of a legal letter, because the obfuscation of the owner's information is not llegal. The service effectively exists only to hide the details from an online audience who wouldn't think of following up on it.

But why on earth would the owner of a Lance-fact website want to hide his/her identity? ;)

Epi, your premise is flawed. Starting point JV is a good guy, who holds some commitment to the truth.

:) cheered my day (however seriously or otherwise you meant it)

That's what I meant ;) But thanks for clarifying in terms I could not have done. :)

What I find interesting is even the cheerleaders like Wetzel on yahoo - who only a year ago were busy attacking Landis and playing the USA-USA-USA card, are now starting to move - albeit slightly (while at the same time denying their involvement in building the Armstrong myth).

http://sports.yahoo.com/sc/news;_yl..._lance_armstrong_faces_new_allegations_051911

This article exactly gives the reason why I asked about whether this bookdeal was real or not:

And while Hamilton has changed his story, that isn’t unexpected for a guy who was cheating. He also may, indeed, be looking for a book deal, but going on national television and giving away the best parts of the story before having a tome to sell would redefine foolish. If money was his motivation, he would’ve written now and talked later. That said, Hamilton offered surprisingly few details (exact dates, locations, etc.) in the “60 Minutes” clip released on Thursday.

So are you saying no one is in jail because of eye witness testimony ?

Credible independent witnesses yes, but I ain't seein' too many of them. Are you? And for something that happened so long ago.. a bit of physical evidence wouldn't go astray at this point either.

i think we know that there will be at least some physical evidence. i very much doubt that afld cooperation was invented.
