The front group seems to be slowing down. The peloton might still come back.

Not a chance. When they come closer they just start riding in front again. There's no strong team that missed out. Lotto isn't going to do it with Gregaard, Thompson or Currie, with all due respect.

Bilbao/Romeo/FFB/Onley/Tejada have a decision to make whether to try and follow Pogacar for a bit if he attacks early on the climb. Usually no but there's a big headwind and getting ahead of the race means they won't get dragged into a tactical battle for the podium behind, even if they have to go into the red for a bit, see Avenir final stage last year.

According to Worre, the stage winner and the GC winner has to be found in the front group.

Yeah, Jesper. I think I've found him:

If they full give-up behind then elephant Tarling just needs to ride his watts on the climb and he can top 10 a WT stage race, he's been watching tapes of his hero, Froomey, up La Camperona in 2014.

for who is riding Quick Step ? Cerny, Lecerf?
Lecerf not too far behind in GC
